Airbus reported delivering 793 commercial aircraft in 2025; Boeing reported 600. That puts Airbus 193 aircraft ahead on the manufacturers’ own figures. But the delivery race is only one part of the comparison: Boeing reported more net orders, while Airbus ended the year with a record aircraft backlog.
How many commercial aircraft did Airbus and Boeing deliver in 2025?
Airbus’s full-year delivery release, published January 12, 2026, reports 793 commercial aircraft delivered, up 4% from 766 in 2024. Boeing’s January 27, 2026 release reports 600 commercial deliveries, its highest annual total since 2018.

These are company-reported commercial-aircraft totals, not a measure of revenue, profit, or aircraft value. On that basis, Airbus delivered 193 more aircraft than Boeing in 2025.
Which aircraft families made up the totals?
Single-aisle aircraft made up the largest portion of each manufacturer’s deliveries. The figures below use the family labels and counts reported by each company; the annual counts do not establish a one-to-one equivalence between Airbus and Boeing models.

Airbus says its aircraft went to 91 customers globally. Boeing’s family figures are from its full-year orders and deliveries release.
Why do some sources show a different Boeing delivery count?
EUROCONTROL’s 2025 aviation review, published in January 2026, lists 585 Boeing deliveries, 208 fewer than Airbus’s 793. That is 15 below Boeing’s company-reported total of 600. The sources do not explain the discrepancy, so the figures should be attributed to their respective sources rather than combined or treated as reconciled.

Who had more orders in 2025?
Boeing reported more net commercial airplane orders, while Airbus reported more deliveries. The order figures are not directly like-for-like because Airbus also reports gross orders before cancellations.

Airbus’s full-year 2025 results, published February 19, 2026, report 889 net orders after cancellations. Boeing’s net total is from its January 2026 release. Comparing Boeing’s net figure with Airbus’s gross figure would mix different measures.

What do the backlog figures show?
Airbus reported a record year-end commercial-aircraft backlog of 8,754 aircraft. That is a count of aircraft. Boeing reported a headline total backlog value of $682 billion, a monetary measure with different scope. Those figures cannot be compared as if they measured the same thing.
For a delivery comparison, the clearest result is the company-reported aircraft count: Airbus led Boeing in 2025 deliveries. Orders provide a different view of future demand, but the gross and net measures must remain distinct.
