Air Canada has announced planned nonstop service between Toronto and Oslo for Summer 2027. Its September 3, 2026 network announcement confirms the route as part of a wider expansion, but does not give an exact first-flight date or enough schedule detail to establish how it compares with United or Delta. The announcement also does not confirm that this is a relaunch of a previously operated Toronto–Oslo service.
What Air Canada has announced
Air Canada’s September 3, 2026 announcement places Toronto–Oslo among seven new routes and five new international destinations planned for Summer 2027. The other listed additions are Toronto–Shannon, Toronto–Nice, Montréal–Basel, Montréal–Dubrovnik, and Vancouver–Guangzhou. Air Canada also said its Toronto–London Heathrow Day-tripper would return.
The release establishes the planned season, not an exact launch date. It does not specify the route’s weekly frequency, aircraft, fares, or operating dates. Those details matter when comparing flight options, so travelers should look for a published schedule before making plans around a particular departure.
How Oslo fits Air Canada’s Scandinavian network
Air Canada described Oslo, Stockholm, and Copenhagen as destinations in its Scandinavian network. It also called itself the only North American airline with nonstop flights to Norway. That is the carrier’s characterization in the announcement, not an independently verified comparison of all airlines’ schedules.

The release does not establish whether Toronto–Oslo is a new route for Air Canada or a return to a route it previously operated. Calling it a relaunch would require a confirmed route history that the announcement itself does not provide.
What the announcement says—and does not say—about other airlines
American Airlines’ Summer 2027 route announcement lists additions including Charlotte–Barcelona, Chicago–Tokyo Narita, New York–Amsterdam, New York–Nice, Philadelphia–Porto, Philadelphia–Reykjavik, and Philadelphia–Vienna. It does not list Toronto–Oslo. That omission describes the contents of this announcement; it does not prove American has made a lasting decision not to serve Oslo.

The available announcements do not verify current United or Delta nonstop Oslo schedules, so they cannot support a claim that Air Canada is following either carrier on this route. A sound comparison would need confirmed schedules and should distinguish nonstop flights from connecting itineraries, as well as compare operating dates, weekly frequency, aircraft, and the airline actually operating each segment.

For now, the confirmed planning point is the Summer 2027 season. The announcement does not provide an exact start date or enough operating details to choose a specific flight. Check Air Canada’s published schedule and booking options once they are available, and verify the itinerary’s dates and operating carrier before booking.
