Short answer: Agility Robotics’ $400 million financing story dates to March 2025. GeekWire initially described the round as money the company was “reportedly raising,” citing The Information. A later investor disclosure said Agility closed a $400 million Series C that month at an approximate $2.12 billion valuation.
As of August 16, 2026, the more important financing event is a proposed merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI. The transaction is expected to provide more than $620 million in gross proceeds and values Agility at a $2.5 billion pre-money equity value—but it had not closed.

What happened to the $400 million financing?
The original headline referred to a March 2025 report from GeekWire, which attributed the information to The Information. The wording “reportedly raising” mattered: Agility had not clearly announced the financing as a completed round in its own contemporaneous press-release archive.
A later investor disclosure said Agility closed a $400 million Series C in March 2025, valuing the company at approximately $2.12 billion. That disclosure is the basis for describing the round as closed. Without a definitive financing document, it is also prudent not to assume that every dollar represented new primary capital or that no secondary transactions were involved.

What is the latest financing event?
Agility is seeking to become publicly traded through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, which traded under the ticker CCXI before completion. The combined company is expected to use the Agility name and has proposed the ticker AGLT, subject to closing and exchange-listing approval.
The transaction assigns Agility a $2.5 billion pre-money equity value and is expected to generate more than $620 million in gross proceeds:
- Approximately $420 million from Churchill’s trust account, assuming no redemptions. Later materials cite approximately $421 million.
- Approximately $200 million through a common-stock private investment in public equity, or PIPE. Later materials cite approximately $201 million.
These figures are not the same as $620 million of completed cash fundraising. Trust-account money depends on the merger closing and investor redemptions. The PIPE and the transaction itself remain subject to closing conditions, including shareholder approval, SEC review, regulatory approvals and exchange-listing approval. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, but it could be delayed, changed or abandoned.

What does Agility actually build?
Agility’s flagship product is Digit, a general-purpose, human-centric humanoid robot designed for repetitive physical work in manufacturing, distribution, logistics and warehouse environments.
The documented use cases are narrower than the broad idea of a robot that can perform every warehouse job. They include:
- Moving totes and bins.
- Handling repetitive material-transfer work.
- Connecting existing automated systems.
- Working in facilities originally designed for people.
- Performing repetitive lifting and walking tasks.
Agility identifies Schaeffler, GXO, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and Mercado Libre among its customer or deployment relationships. Amazon is described as a strategic investor and partner. Those categories should not be treated as interchangeable: a test, partnership, customer order and commercial deployment each represent a different level of adoption.

Amazon’s role, in particular, should not be interpreted as a commitment to purchase a specific number of robots unless a source explicitly says so. Similarly, a Digit deployment does not establish that the robot is replacing an entire warehouse workforce.

What is Digit v5?
Digit v5 is Agility’s next-generation humanoid robot. The company describes it as being designed around “cooperative safety,” meaning it is intended to work alongside human coworkers. The target environments are scaled manufacturing, distribution and logistics operations.
Agility’s investor presentation says it has secured more than $300 million of multi-year Digit v5 orders, subject to contractual milestones. It links that figure to approximately 1,000 robots under three-year Robot-as-a-Service contracts.
That is a potential multi-year contract value—not current-period revenue, delivered robots or cash collected. Orders may be recognized over time and can depend on deployment, performance or other contractual milestones.

- CLEAN FLOORS EVERY DAY—WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT. The Roomba Plus 415X vacuums and mops in one run, stopping crumbs, dust, and spills before they turn into stuck‑on messes. With 20,000 Pa and DualClean mop pads, your floors stay visibly clean from morning and night.
- NO MORE SCRUBBING DRIED‑ON MESSES. SmartScrub applies extra pressure exactly where messes are stubborn—breaking down dried food, muddy paw prints, and kitchen splatter, so you never have to scrub by hand again.
- REACHES THE PLACES DIRT USUALLY HIDES. A 46% slimmer design* fits under more furniture, while extending brushes pull debris from edges and corners—so dust doesn’t collect where traditional robots miss. *Compared to Roomba 105
- GREAT FOR HOMES WITH PETS. Tangle‑free rubber brushes capture pet fur without clogging, eliminating constant stops to cut hair off the brush.
- EVERY CLEAN STARTS WITH A FRESH MOP—NOT YESTERDAY’S DIRT. The AutoWash Dock washes and heat‑dries mop pads at 113°F after every run, preventing odors and buildup so floors aren’t cleaned with yesterday’s dirt.
These are design and sourcing claims, not evidence that the facility is already producing 10,000 robots per year. The commercial challenge is converting planned capacity into reliable, repeatable output while meeting customer requirements.
Why the financing matters
Humanoid robotics requires capital well beyond the cost of building a prototype. Agility must fund hardware development, actuators, batteries, sensors, computing, safety validation, fleet software, manufacturing, customer integration, field service and maintenance.
The proposed financing therefore represents a bet on deployment scale, not merely on a laboratory demonstration. Moving from pilots to repeatable installations requires robots that can operate for long periods, recover from errors, integrate with warehouse-management and fleet systems, and deliver acceptable economics.

Digit must compete with human labor and with established automation such as autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms, conveyors, sortation equipment and specialized material-handling systems. A humanoid form can be useful in spaces designed for people, but a purpose-built machine may be cheaper and more efficient for a highly structured workflow.

Reliability and supervision
Enterprise buyers will care about uptime, battery charging or replacement, recovery from errors, maintenance, remote supervision, safe interaction with people and software integration. “Autonomous” does not necessarily mean fully unattended; exception handling or human intervention may still be required.
Orders are not guaranteed revenue
The more than $300 million order figure is subject to contractual milestones. It should not be presented as $300 million of revenue or as proof that 1,000 robots have already been delivered.
SPAC execution
A SPAC merger can produce a public listing without making a company a mature industrial business. The transaction remains dependent on approvals, redemptions, PIPE completion and other closing conditions. Gross proceeds can be reduced by redemptions, expenses and transaction adjustments.
Valuation risk
The $2.5 billion figure is the proposed transaction’s pre-money equity value. It is not proof of profitability, fair market value or a future public-market capitalization. Investors should distinguish among a private financing valuation, a SPAC transaction valuation, post-merger market capitalization, enterprise value, revenue and order backlog.
What prospective customers and investors should watch
- Closing status: whether the Churchill transaction receives approvals and closes.
- Net proceeds: how much cash remains after redemptions, fees and expenses.
- Production: whether RoboFab turns designed capacity into actual output.
- Deployment performance: uptime, intervention rates, maintenance and safety results.
- Contract conversion: whether multi-year orders become delivered robots and recognized revenue.
- Total system cost: the robot plus charging, software, supervision, integration and service.
For buyers, there is no public standard purchase price for Digit. Agility describes three-year Robot-as-a-Service contracts, but the cited materials do not disclose a standard monthly or per-robot rate. A conventional AMR, robotic arm, conveyor system or specialized integrator may be a better fit for a predictable workflow.
Bottom line
Agility Robotics’ reported $400 million raise is an older 2025 financing milestone, later described as a closed Series C. The company’s latest disclosed capital plan is the proposed Churchill Capital Corp XI merger, which could provide more than $620 million in gross proceeds at a $2.5 billion pre-money valuation.
The important question is no longer simply whether investors are enthusiastic about humanoid robots. It is whether Agility can convert customer orders into reliable, economically competitive fleets—and complete the public-market transaction that is supposed to fund that expansion.
