Stipend, training term and location
The monthly amounts were ₹15,000 for graduate apprentices, ₹12,000 for diploma apprentices and ₹9,000 for ITI trade apprentices, as stated in AAI’s 2024 notice. Training lasted one year. These were qualification-specific options; candidates needed to meet the requirements for the relevant route rather than treating the stipend levels as interchangeable.
Training was to take place at airports, stations or units in AAI’s Northern Region. AAI said the assigned location would be final and requests to change it would not be entertained. Placement would preferably take account of the location entered during portal registration.

How applications and selection worked
The application deadline was 25 December 2024; applications are no longer open under this notice. At the time, graduate and diploma candidates applied through the NATS portal, while ITI candidates used apprenticeshipindia.org/NAPS. AAI said only applications submitted through the relevant portals would be considered. There was no application fee, and no travel allowance or daily allowance (TA/DA) was payable.
- Register on the relevant apprenticeship portal: NATS for graduate and diploma candidates, or apprenticeshipindia.org for ITI candidates.
- Submit an application for one discipline only: the notice did not permit applying to multiple disciplines.
- Await merit shortlisting: AAI said provisional shortlisting would be based on percentage marks in the qualifying examination.
- Attend the next stage if contacted: shortlisted candidates would be informed through their registered email for interview and document verification.
- Meet the joining requirement: final selection depended on the interview, document verification and submission of a medical fitness certificate at joining.
Apprenticeship did not guarantee an AAI job
The 197 seats were for apprenticeship training, not regular employment. AAI’s Northern Region notice stated: “Airports Authority of India has no obligation to give regular employment to Apprentices.” It also said the program created no obligation to provide a job or placement after training.
For a contemporaneous summary, India Today’s 1 December 2024 report covered the announcement; AAI’s notice is the controlling source for the program conditions.
