How much did Rolex prices rise in 2024?
The commonly reported European and U.K. adjustment was approximately 3% to 5%. An Italian review found an average increase just over 4%, with individual references ranging from 1.91% for the Deepsea Challenge to 5.75% for a left-handed GMT-Master II on Jubilee.

Examples from the Italian list included a 3.9% increase for the Submariner Date, 4.1% for the GMT-Master II BLNR on Jubilee, 3.8% for a Datejust 41 on Jubilee and 3.1% for the Oyster Perpetual. These are official-retail list comparisons, not secondary-market prices.
Did Rolex raise prices in the United States?
Not at the beginning of January 2024, according to data tracked by Barclays analysts and reported on January 5. The analysts said U.S. prices had not changed while U.K. prices were up around 4%, adding that a U.S. increase could still occur later in the year.

The analysts attributed the geographic difference partly to dollar strength and pricing differences between markets. Their data also indicated that demand exceeded supply in both the United States and United Kingdom. Rolex did not provide an official explanation to the publication that requested comment, so currency, inflation and production-cost explanations should be treated as analyst and industry interpretations rather than a confirmed Rolex statement.
Model-by-model Rolex list-price changes
The clearest comparisons below use euro prices with 20% VAT. VAT rates differ across European countries, so these figures should not be used as a universal euro price or compared directly with a U.S. pre-tax list price.
Submariner

Full-gold and white-gold Submariner references in the same comparison rose by approximately 4.5% to 5%. Because precious-metal watches start at higher prices, a similar percentage produces a much larger euro increase.
Cosmograph Daytona
Daytona comparisons require special care because Rolex changed the stainless-steel reference in 2023. The previous 116500LN was listed at €14,650, the new 126500LN launched at €14,950 in 2023, and its 2024 price was €15,700.

The two-tone Daytona 126503 reached €20,500, while the yellow-gold 126508 reached €41,100 in the cited euro comparison. The 7% figure mixes a generation change with a later price adjustment; the 5% figure isolates the 2024 increase on the current reference.
GMT-Master II
The GMT-Master II BLNR on Jubilee rose 4.1% in the Italian figures. A broader Italian table recorded the largest cited increase, 5.75%, for a left-handed GMT-Master II on Jubilee. Exact bracelet, bezel and case-metal combinations therefore matter when comparing percentages.

Perpetual Passion’s Italian summary reports a 3.8% increase for the Datejust 41 on Jubilee and 3.1% for the Oyster Perpetual. Bracelet and configuration differences explain why a collection-level percentage may not match a particular reference.

Precious-metal and two-tone watches generally showed larger cash increases than entry-level steel models because the percentage was applied to a higher starting price.
Why prices differed by country
Currency and local pricing
Rolex sets market-specific retail prices rather than converting one global list at a daily exchange rate. Barclays analysts cited dollar strength and pricing differentials as possible reasons U.S. prices did not move when U.K. prices did.
VAT, GST and tax basis
The euro comparisons include 20% VAT. Singapore comparisons, for example, showed Submariner increases of 4.77% to 5.96% including GST changes, with the two-tone 126613LB and 126613LN at 5.96%. A tax-inclusive price in one country is not directly interchangeable with a pre-tax price in another.
Materials and reference generation
Steel, two-tone and precious-metal models do not share the same price structure. Nor can a discontinued reference be treated as the same product as its replacement: the Daytona 116500LN-to-126500LN comparison demonstrates how a 2023 generation change can make a year-on-year percentage look larger.
How to compare a Rolex price correctly
- Use the exact reference. Record the six-digit reference, bezel, dial, bracelet and case metal.
- Keep the country constant. Compare Italy with Italy or the United States with the United States; do not mix markets.
- Identify the tax basis. Mark each figure as VAT-inclusive, GST-inclusive or pre-tax.
- Separate generations. Show a 2023 launch price separately from the prior model’s last price.
- Distinguish retail from resale. An authorized-retailer list price is not the same as a secondary-market asking price.
- Attach the date. Rolex can change lists independently by market, so an undated figure quickly becomes ambiguous.
Was the 2024 increase separate from new Rolex releases?
Yes. Rolex announced product releases or updates on April 9, 2024 for the GMT-Master II, Day-Date, Deepsea, Cosmograph Daytona and Sky-Dweller. Those launches are separate from the January list-price adjustment; a new reference’s price should not automatically be described as the annual increase.

What the 2024 increase means for buyers
- Budgeting: In markets that rose 3% to 5%, a €10,000 watch became roughly €300 to €500 more expensive before any other tax or currency change.
- Model choice: A percentage increase on a gold or two-tone watch creates a substantially larger cash difference than the same percentage on a steel Oyster Perpetual.
- Market comparisons: A U.S. buyer cannot infer a U.S. increase from a European list, and a European buyer should account for VAT before comparing with another country.
- Resale expectations: Retail-list changes do not guarantee an equivalent movement in secondary-market prices; the two markets measure different things.
The Bottom Line
For 2024, the best-supported summary is a roughly 3% to 5% Rolex list-price increase across many European and U.K. references, with an Italian average just above 4%, while U.S. prices were unchanged in early January. Compare the exact reference, country, tax basis, metal and model generation before treating any figure as a true price increase.
