From July 16, 2025, petrol in Pakistan rose by Rs5.36 per litre to Rs272.15, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) rose by Rs11.37 to Rs284.35. These were the notified rates for the fortnight beginning July 16, 2025—not current prices.
What were petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan from July 16, 2025?
The Associated Press of Pakistan reported the previous and revised rates as follows:

Why were the rates revised?
The APP report, citing a Ministry of Finance press release, said the government made the revision following recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries. It did not provide a component-by-component price calculation or name a specific cause such as crude-oil prices, exchange rates, taxes, or levies.

Were these the current prices?
No. The figures above describe the fortnight beginning July 16, 2025. OGRA’s notified petroleum prices index lists later effective notices, including one dated October 3, 2026. To find a current rate, check OGRA’s latest notice and its effective date rather than relying on this historical update.

In a statement dated July 18, 2026, the Petroleum Division said a mechanism was transitioning from weekly to daily pricing, and that a meeting sought stakeholder feedback on implementation.
