The Mount Pleasant house linked to Craig Puddy’s 2010 murder was listed for $3.5 million in January 2024. It later sold for $3.2 million on 21 October 2024, so it is not still up for sale according to the available sale record.

Which Perth house was listed?

The property was 2A Bateman Road in Mount Pleasant, Perth. PerthNow described it in January 2024 as a five-bedroom, four-bathroom home close to the Swan River, with a theatre room and swimming pool. The pool had been resurfaced during renovations, according to the report. A property record lists the site at 493 square metres.

What was the asking price, and what did it sell for?

PerthNow reported an asking price of $3.5 million for the January 2024 listing. That was the advertised price, not the eventual sale price. The property record at realestate.com.au reports that it sold for $3.2 million on 21 October 2024.

Milestone Price What it means
January 2024 listing $3.5 million Asking price reported by PerthNow, not a completed sale.
21 October 2024 sale $3.2 million Sale price reported in the realestate.com.au property record.

The two figures describe different stages of the property’s history; the asking price should not be mistaken for the amount paid.

Why was the house in the news?

PerthNow reported that Craig Puddy, 45, was attacked at the home late on 3 May 2010 by business associate Cameron Mansell, with whom he worked at a Crawley bar. Puddy’s body has never been found. Mansell fled Western Australia before a jury convicted him of murder in 2011, the report said.

The West Australian reported that Puddy’s family sold the home in 2012 for $2.4 million. The report said a court order declared Puddy dead in June before the family could proceed with the sale.

What is established about Mansell’s sentence?

A 2017 debate in the Western Australian Parliament stated that Mansell had been sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment, with parole eligibility after 12 years. That parliamentary statement records the sentence as discussed in 2017; it does not establish his current custody or parole status.
