The league also lifted the salary floor and minimum salary. Those are changes to team spending limits and the minimum salary rate—not proof that every player received an identical 7% raise.
What changed for NBL players in 2024–25?
For NBL25, the league announced a 7% increase and published the following figures:
| 2024–25 measure | Amount | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Salary cap | A$1,947,662.58 | The league’s cap figure for team player payments |
| Salary floor | A$1,752,913.85 | The minimum amount each team must spend, according to the NBL |
| Current minimum salary | A$74,540.23 | The minimum salary listed for NBL25 |
| Next-year minimum salary | A$79,758.05 | The league’s listed minimum for the following year |
The National Basketball League announced the NBL25 figures in its 9 April 2024 report. An AAP report published by PerthNow gave the same cap, floor and current minimum figures, and said the league’s 10 teams were required to spend at least the floor on their 11-player rosters.
Does a 7% cap increase mean every player got a 7% raise?
No. The 7% increase applies to the league’s player-payment figure and salary cap. It does not establish that every player’s contract rose by 7%. The league’s announcements do not provide individual contract outcomes, so a player’s actual increase—if any—cannot be inferred from the cap announcement alone.

How the salary cap differs from the salary floor
The salary cap and floor set different boundaries. The cap is the league’s stated limit for team player payments; the floor is the minimum a team must spend. For NBL25, the floor was A$194,748.73 below the cap. The NBL described the floor as the minimum each team must spend.
How the latest NBL figures compare
The latest league figures found are for NBL27, the 2026–27 season. On 15 April 2026, the NBL reported another 7% increase to player payments and published these amounts:
Rank #2
| Measure | NBL25 (2024–25) | NBL27 (2026–27) |
|---|---|---|
| Salary cap | A$1,947,662.58 | A$2,167,358.92 |
| Salary floor | A$1,752,913.85 | A$1,950,642.53 |
| Current minimum salary | A$74,540.23 | A$82,948.37 |
| Next-year minimum salary | A$79,758.05 | A$88,754.76 |
The later figures are for a different season, not a revision of the 2024–25 amounts. The NBL’s 15 April 2026 report says the league will deliver “another 7 per cent increase to player payments for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season.” It attributes the statement to NBL.com.au rather than to a named speaker.

The published figures give the cap, floor and minimum salary rates, but do not explain detailed cap accounting or marquee-player calculations. They also do not show how much any individual player earned or whether a particular contract changed. The numbers are best read as league-wide salary-rule figures for their stated seasons, not as a record of each player’s pay.
