The 2024/25 Premier League season is over, so its club-payment figures are reported outcomes, not predictions. Liverpool received the largest reported total, £174.9 million, while Southampton received the lowest, £109.2 million. These were combined central payments from broadcast and commercial revenues—not a separate winner’s purse or each club’s total income.

What the payments included
BBC Sport describes the totals as a combination of equal revenue shares, merit payments, central commercial revenue and facility fees. Each club received £29.8 million from the equal UK revenue share, £59.2 million from the equal international revenue share and £7.9 million in central commercial payment. Merit payments
Merit payments reflected league position. Liverpool, the champions, received £53.1 million in basic merit payments; Southampton, who finished bottom, received £2.6 million.
Facility fees
Facility fees were tied to domestic televised matches. Liverpool had 30 of their 38 league games televised—the highest count among clubs—and received £24.9 million in facility fees. Southampton received £9.7 million in facility fees. The available reporting identifies these components and examples but does not establish a complete calculation formula or precise per-place rates.

Why totals do not match league-table order
League position affects merit payments, but it is not the only variable in the total. Because facility fees depend on televised domestic matches, a club lower in the table can receive more central payments than a club above it. Manchester United finished 15th but received £136.2 million, more than several higher-placed clubs. Crystal Palace finished 12th and received £136.1 million, compared with £135.5 million for 11th-place Fulham.
For comparisons, keep the measures separate: final position, merit payment, televised-match exposure and total central payments answer different questions. The reported total alone does not show how much came from any one variable component.

What these figures do—and do not—say about club finances
The Premier League confirmed the season’s central broadcast and commercial payments on 1 July 2025. Its announcement of 2024/25 payments also says the league committed more than £550 million to the wider game during the season. That wider-game commitment is not an additional amount to add to any club’s figure in the table.
These totals are central payments, not full club revenue. They do not represent all income a club may receive from matchdays, sponsorship, transfers or other sources. The Premier League’s 2024/25 annual report describes central revenue distribution as equitable, with the stated aims of maintaining competitive balance and supporting club operations; that is the league’s characterization of its approach.
The same annual report says a record nine clubs qualified for European competitions in 2024/25. European qualification is season context, not a component listed in the central-payment totals above.
