Corporate bingo is a simple side game for a workplace meeting or team event: players mark workplace phrases or situations on a card as they happen. Before you start, agree on what counts as a match and what pattern wins; a completed horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line is a common choice, but there is no universal rulebook.
What corporate bingo is
Instead of calling numbered balls, corporate bingo uses squares filled with familiar work phrases or situations. Players mark a square when they hear or observe its match. Typical squares include “circle back,” “synergy,” “deep dive,” “action item,” and “you’re on mute.” You can also use harmless, shared references that are specific to your team. Examples of workplace-themed cards include Bingo Card Studio’s corporate bingo cards and this user-created Corporate Bingo Card on Bingo Baker.
How to play
- Choose a suitable occasion. Use it as a light side activity at a team social, company event, or meeting where play will not distract from the work.
- Make and distribute cards. Print cards for an in-person group, or share digital cards for remote and hybrid participants. Some hosted games let a host share a room code or link; players then mark their own cards while the meeting continues. Room for Games’ online guide describes this kind of hosted format.
- Explain the match rule. Decide whether a square counts when someone says the phrase, when a situation occurs, or both. Mark it when that agreed event happens.
- Set the winning pattern before play. A completed horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line is common. You can instead choose another pattern or a full card, as long as everyone knows the rule in advance.
- Play without disrupting the meeting. Players can mark quietly as the conversation proceeds. Joining should be optional when the game is part of a work activity.
- Confirm a win. When someone claims the chosen pattern, check the marked squares against the agreed match rule.
How to make corporate bingo cards
Choose recognizable, good-natured squares
Use phrases and situations that participants can identify without turning the card into a critique of a particular coworker. Possible squares include “circle back,” “synergy,” “deep dive,” “bandwidth,” “action item,” “you’re on mute,” or a recurring, harmless team reference. Keep the focus on shared workplace language and moments—not a person or a sensitive workplace issue.
Vary the layouts
If everyone has the same arrangement, players may be waiting for the same sequence. Shuffled or unique layouts give participants different cards. Some generators offer unique 5×5 cards, while other tools support different grid sizes; neither a 5×5 grid nor any particular square arrangement is a universal standard. Bingo Card Creator’s customizable corporate cards are one example of a card-generation option.

Pick the format and materials
For paper cards, distribute a pen or another marker; specialized bingo daubers are optional. For digital play, participants can mark squares on their own devices, or use a hosted game if that suits the group. Choose the format based on how people will participate, whether they need customized cards, and whether distinct layouts matter to you.

It can be appropriate as a voluntary, unobtrusive game when the group is comfortable with it and the squares are lighthearted. Avoid content that singles out a coworker or makes a sensitive workplace issue into a joke. Do not encourage players to interrupt speakers or derail the meeting; if the activity does not fit the occasion, save it for a social event.
