A reliable current figure for Philippe Dauman’s net worth is not established by the public company filings reviewed here. Viacom reported substantial compensation for him as a senior executive, but annual pay and equity-award values are not the same as a person’s net worth: they do not show all assets, liabilities, taxes, spending, or the value ultimately realized from awards.
Is Philippe Dauman’s net worth publicly known?
The reviewed Viacom proxy statements and company disclosures do not provide a complete personal balance sheet for Dauman. They therefore cannot establish his current assets, debts, or net worth. A precise figure presented without a dated, traceable methodology should be treated as an unverified estimate, not as a fact supported by these filings.
What Viacom reported about his compensation
Viacom’s 2017 proxy statement reported the following total compensation for Dauman. These are historical company-reported compensation totals for the stated fiscal years, not estimates of his wealth today.
| Fiscal year | Viacom-reported total compensation |
|---|---|
| 2014 | $44,334,858 |
| 2015 | $54,154,312 |
| 2016 | $93,021,795 |
Viacom Inc.’s 2017 proxy statement presents compensation under executive-reporting rules; the totals should not be read as cash received or as an accumulation of wealth. The filing also identifies Dauman as president and CEO until his separation effective August 18, 2016.

What the 2015 salary, bonus, and equity figures mean
In a January 20, 2016 statement, Viacom said Dauman received a $4 million salary and a $14 million bonus for fiscal 2015, and that his annual equity award was valued at $18.9 million. Those are distinct compensation components, and the equity figure is an award valuation—not proof that he received that amount in cash.
Viacom’s proxy explains that executives are not guaranteed to realize the target value of equity awards. The eventual value depends on the company’s stock price at exercise or settlement and, for performance stock units, company performance over the applicable period. That distinction is why adding reported award values to salary and bonus does not produce a dependable personal-wealth figure.

Net worth is the value of assets minus liabilities at a particular point in time. Compensation disclosures address pay for defined periods and may include accounting values for stock-based awards. They do not disclose a complete picture of what a person owns or owes, what was retained after taxes and spending, or what an award ultimately realized.
Dauman served as Viacom’s president and CEO from September 5, 2006, through August 17, 2016, and as executive chairman from February 4 through September 13, 2016, according to the company’s 2017 proxy. That chronology helps explain why the filings cover executive compensation; it does not provide a basis for converting that compensation into a current net-worth estimate.
