The 21st Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS) 2026 was scheduled for September 18–20 at Expo Centre Lahore—not Karachi—and those dates had passed by October 8, 2026. The latest cited Pakistan Bureau of Statistics figure shows a rise in the value of motor-car imports classified as CKD/SKD, but it does not establish that used-car imports increased.
Where and when was PAPS 2026?
The Ministry of Industries and Production announced on August 1, 2026, that the 21st Pakistan Auto Parts Show would take place at Expo Centre Lahore from September 18 to 20. As of October 8, 2026, the event is over. The ministry announcement also identified the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) as a partner with the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM). Ministry of Industries and Production announcement
The show is an industry exhibition focused on auto-parts manufacturers and business and market linkages, not a consumer car sale. In the ministry announcement, Secretary Saif Anjum said the event should provide local auto-parts manufacturers with market exposure and links to global competitors.
Why does Karachi appear in the headline?
Karachi was the venue for the previous edition identified in the available event material: PAAPAM’s brochure scheduled the 2025 show for November 14–16 at Karachi Expo Centre. That historical schedule does not describe the 2026 edition.

Do the cited figures show that used-car imports are rising?
No. Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported motor-car imports classified as CKD/SKD worth Rs 67,203 million in June 2026, a 55.89% increase in value compared with June 2025. This is an import-value figure for the stated CKD/SKD category; it is not a used-car-specific statistic and does not give a used-car vehicle count. PBS June 2026 release

What the statistic does—and does not—say
- Category: motor cars (CKD/SKD), not used complete vehicles identified separately.
- Measure: value in rupees, not the number of vehicles.
- Comparison: June 2026 against June 2025; the reported increase is in value.
- Conclusion: it cannot support a claim that used-car imports rose.
To establish a rise in used-car imports, a statistic would need to identify used vehicles separately and allow a like-for-like comparison—ideally reporting quantities and comparable periods. PBS’s external-trade page links to official trade series, but the available material does not establish a comparable used-car-specific series. PBS external-trade data
