He was speaking about Palantir’s work with partner institutions and its stated service to the West and the United States—not describing a named operation or specific use of the company’s software.
What did Alex Karp say?
In his closing remarks on Palantir’s Q4 2024 earnings call, Karp said: “Palantir is here to disrupt and make the institutions we partner with the very best in the world and when it’s necessary to scare enemies and, on occasion, kill them.” The wording is from the call transcript hosted by The Motley Fool.
Karp is identified as Palantir’s chief executive officer in the transcript. The call took place on February 3, 2025; the transcript was updated the next day. Read The Motley Fool’s Palantir Q4 2024 earnings-call transcript.
What was the context of the remark?
The line came at the end of an investor call, after Karp discussed Palantir’s partners and the company’s mission. He said Palantir was dedicated to “the service of the West and the United States of America” and referred to work in places “we can’t talk about.” He then described the company’s role as improving partner institutions and, when necessary, scaring and killing enemies.

That context makes the remark a statement about Palantir’s defense and government-facing mission, but it does not identify a particular military action or explain how the company’s technology was used in one.

The transcript establishes that Karp made the statement and provides its immediate setting. It does not name an operation, target, weapon, deployment, or outcome tied to his words. The quote alone therefore cannot establish that Palantir software was involved in a particular killing or that a specific operation occurred.
