What the 2024 recruitment offered
PPSC advertised 300 Veterinary Officer (Group-A) posts under Advertisement No. 20241. The original recruitment notice was titled “General Information for the Candidates.” The PPSC recruitment notice identifies the advertisement and post count; Scroll’s contemporaneous report gave March 28, 2024, as the application deadline.
Reported eligibility requirements
The contemporaneous report summarized the core requirements as a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from a university recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, plus registration with the Punjab Veterinary Council. It reported a general age range of 18 to 37 years as of January 1, 2024.

What happened after applications closed
A PPSC public notice dated May 15, 2025, concerning Advertisement No. 20241, describes recruitment for 405 posts (300 original posts plus 105 new posts). The expanded count is from a later stage of the recruitment and should not be confused with the original 300-post advertisement. The later public notice says the written competitive examination was held on December 8, 2024, and sets out document-scrutiny dates in May and June 2025 for provisionally shortlisted candidates.
The notice instructed candidates attending scrutiny to bring a signed printout of their application and self-attested eligibility documents. It also said candidature could be cancelled if scrutiny found a candidate ineligible. The available notices do not establish the final selection or appointment outcome, so the later post count and scrutiny schedule should not be taken as confirmation that all posts were filled.
