The offer began as a one-year promotion in 2023, but Amazon Canada announced in September 2025 that it had become a continuing benefit. You must link an eligible DoorDash account, and DashPass is not available everywhere in Canada.
Do Prime members get free DoorDash DashPass?
Yes, if you are an active Amazon.ca Prime member in Canada and DashPass is available in your area. Amazon says the benefit continues while your Prime membership remains active; it is no longer limited to the original one-year period. The original promotion launched in 2023 as a free year of DashPass. Amazon’s current offer page describes the continuing benefit and its conditions at amazon.ca/prime/offer/doordash. This is a Canada-specific offer for Amazon.ca Prime members, not a general benefit for Prime members in other countries. DoorDash cautions that its service and DashPass are not available throughout all of Canada.
What does DashPass include—and what can still cost extra?
On eligible orders, DashPass provides $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees when the order meets the merchant’s minimum subtotal. It also includes 5% back in DoorDash credits on eligible pickup orders and subscriber-only deals. Eligibility depends on the merchant and the specific order.

How much is the benefit worth?
Amazon values the DashPass subscription at $120 annually. That is Amazon’s published subscription-value estimate, not a guarantee that every member will save $120. Your actual savings depend on how often you place eligible orders and whether the fee reductions exceed any costs you would otherwise avoid.

How do I activate DashPass with Amazon Prime?
- Go to Amazon.ca’s Prime DashPass offer page and sign in to your active Canadian Prime account.
- Follow the prompts to link or authenticate your DoorDash account. Account linking is required so eligibility can be verified.
- Once activated, order through DoorDash, or use the DoorDash experience on Amazon.ca or in the Amazon Shopping app.
For eligibility verification, Amazon shares your Prime membership status and a customer identification code with DoorDash. If you already pay for DashPass, Amazon says you may be able to switch to the Prime offer; any unused paid time is prorated when you activate it.
Will you be charged for DashPass after the offer?
DoorDash’s terms say this offer does not convert into a paid DashPass membership. That does not waive charges for food orders: eligible orders can still include fees, taxes, tips and other costs. Amazon says DashPass access ends if your Prime membership ends or is cancelled, you unsubscribe from DashPass, or your DoorDash account is deleted.

The offer is limited to one per customer and account, is non-transferable, and may be modified or cancelled by Amazon and DoorDash. To cancel DashPass, Amazon’s offer page says to contact DoorDash support or use the Manage DashPass section of your account. Cancelling during the free membership period ends DashPass benefits immediately.

The one-year wording refers to the original Canadian promotion announced in June 2023. Amazon announced in September 2025 that the benefit would continue for as long as a member’s Prime membership stays active. Eva Lorenz, Country Head of Amazon.ca, described the original launch this way: “This DoorDash DashPass offer builds on the existing savings, convenience, and entertainment Prime members in Canada already enjoy—all in a single, low-priced membership.”
