Where can you buy a PS5 Pro?
Start with Sony’s US buying page, which points shoppers to online retailers, or Sony’s US PS5 Pro product page, which offers a direct PlayStation purchase route. Sony’s buying options and participating retailers differ by market, so use your country’s PlayStation site or local retailers rather than assuming a US listing ships to you.

How to compare purchase options
Before choosing a listing, compare its full cost and terms with Sony’s current recommended price. A low headline price may not be the best deal once shipping, seller identity or return conditions are taken into account.
- Stock and delivery: Confirm that the console is available to order in your country and check the estimated delivery date.
- Total price: Include shipping and any other checkout charges when comparing the listing with Sony’s recommended price.
- Seller and returns: Check who is selling the console, the return policy and the warranty terms that apply to that purchase.
- Disc needs: The PS5 Pro is a disc-free 2TB console. If you play physical PS5 games, include the cost and availability of the separately sold, compatible PS5 Disc Drive in your decision.
Sony’s US product page advertises free standard delivery and free returns, with free express delivery for PlayStation Plus members. Those terms are specific to that US page; check the local PlayStation store for the terms that apply where you live.

Do you need the optional disc drive?
The PS5 Pro has no built-in disc drive. Sony says the optional PS5 Disc Drive is sold separately, and its PS5 Pro compatibility guide confirms support. Add it to your budget if you want to play physical discs; if you use digital games only, you may not need it.

Do not buy older PS5 console covers expecting them to fit: Sony says cover sets for PS5 model groups CFI-1000 and CFI-2000 are not compatible with PS5 Pro.
What does the PS5 Pro improve?
Sony highlights ray tracing, PSSR image clarity and higher frame rates for PS5 Pro-enhanced games. These benefits are game-dependent: Sony’s feature notes say availability and features vary by game, so do not assume every PS5 title will receive the same improvements. Sony’s 2024 launch announcement describes the console’s features, while its later price update sets the current recommended prices.
