The figure has two different origins: PTCL Group revenue grew 58% year over year in Q1 2026, while a November 2025 Chase Securities report estimated 58% potential upside from a then-current reference price. That broker estimate was forward-looking and dated; it is not a current target or a guaranteed return.
What does the 58% figure mean?
In PTCL’s results for the three months ended March 31, 2026, 58% refers to year-over-year growth in consolidated PTCL Group revenue—not an increase in PTCL’s share price. Telenor Pakistan’s results were included in the Group from January 1, 2026, making the enlarged group’s revenue base a major reason the comparison changed. The company also cited growth in fixed broadband, enterprise, wholesale, and mobile services. PTCL Q1 2026 interim filing
A separate 58% figure appeared in a Chase Securities report published in November 2025. The firm set a 12-month forward fair-value estimate of PKR 62 per share against a reference price of PKR 39.19 dated November 25, 2025, and described the difference as 58% upside. That was an analyst estimate tied to its assumptions and merger thesis, not a promise or a current market forecast. Its 12-month horizon has elapsed by October 2026. Chase Securities report
What changed in PTCL’s Q1 2026 results?
The Group reported growth in revenue and a sharp improvement in profit measures. Those consolidated results should be distinguished from PTCL standalone performance.

| Measure | Q1 2026 result | Comparison or context |
|---|---|---|
| PTCL Group revenue | Up 58% year over year | Telenor Pakistan results were consolidated from January 1, 2026; the comparison therefore includes a significantly broader group. |
| PTCL Group operating profit | Rs 16 billion | Up 564% year over year, according to PTCL’s Q1 2026 filing. |
| PTCL Group net profit | Rs 3.1 billion | Compared with a Rs 4 billion net loss in Q1 2025. |
| PTCL standalone revenue | Rs 31 billion | Up 6.5% year over year; the filing attributed growth principally to Flash Fiber and Business Solutions. |
PTCL’s directors attributed the Group’s improvement primarily to Telenor’s inclusion alongside operating developments, including recovery at Ubank and improved Ufone performance. The 58% Group revenue increase is therefore not a like-for-like measure of organic growth in the pre-acquisition business, nor does it by itself show how much of the enlarged business’s earnings growth will recur. What was completed—and what was still a separate step?
PTCL’s 2025 annual-report material says the acquisition of 100% of Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers completed on December 31, 2025, after required regulatory approvals. The results were consolidated into PTCL Group from January 1, 2026. PTCL Annual Report 2025
Acquisition completion and legal amalgamation are distinct corporate steps. PTCL’s Q1 2026 report says the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority formally approved the proposed amalgamation of PTML (Ufone) and Telenor Pakistan, to be implemented through a scheme of arrangement under applicable laws. That statement does not establish that every legal or operational integration step was complete. PTCL Interim / Quarterly Report 2026

Can investors use the old 58% target to judge the shares now?
No. The PKR 39.19 reference price belongs to November 25, 2025, and Chase Securities’ PKR 62 estimate was a 12-month forecast from that period. Neither figure supplies a current price or a current estimate of upside. A current return calculation would require a recent, timestamped PSX quote and a suitably current valuation view; no current quote or later analyst target is established here.
For a fresh investment assessment, check the latest PTCL disclosures and PSX market information, then separate the questions the old headline combines:
- Reported scale versus underlying growth: distinguish consolidated results that include Telenor from PTCL standalone figures and assess whether performance persists in subsequent reporting periods.
- Operating performance versus transaction effects: examine profitability and cash generation alongside the enlarged group’s financing, integration, and other costs as disclosed in later filings.
- Forecast assumptions and timing: treat an analyst fair-value estimate as a dated scenario, noting its reference price, forecast horizon, and merger assumptions—not as a guaranteed return.
- Integration execution: follow disclosures on the proposed PTML–Telenor amalgamation and the practical steps still required to implement it.
The Q1 figures show a much larger consolidated business and improved reported profit measures. They do not establish that PTCL shares are currently undervalued or poised for a specific percentage gain.
