Dallas announced a multi-year extension for P.J. Washington on September 11, 2025, but the Mavericks did not disclose its terms. News reports put the deal at about $90 million. Separately, TMZ Sports reported on a North Carolina child-support consent order dated November 2024 and a later California filing. The available reporting does not establish that the extension caused a new order or that the later request for higher support was granted.
What was P.J. Washington’s reported NBA deal?
The Mavericks announced Washington’s extension but said, “Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.” The team announcement cited ESPN and other outlets’ report of a four-year, $90 million deal. Dallas Mavericks announcement
The Associated Press reported a four-year value of $89 million, citing a person with knowledge of the extension who spoke anonymously because the terms had not been released. Associated Press report
The figures are best described as a reported value of about $90 million: the team confirmed an extension, not a specific contract amount. The Mavericks also said Washington averaged 14.7 points and a career-high 7.8 rebounds per game during the 2024–25 season. Dallas Mavericks announcement

What did the reported child-support order require?
TMZ Sports reported that documents it obtained showed a Mecklenburg County, North Carolina consent order dated November 2024 requiring Washington to pay $5,500 per month. TMZ also reported a $130,000 lump sum covering accrued support and Renner’s attorney fees. The original order has not been independently reviewed here, so these terms are attributed to TMZ’s account of the documents. TMZ Sports report on the consent order
TMZ reproduced the order’s language as covering “any and all existing child support accruing prior to the entry of this consent order, as well as for [Renner’s] attorney’s fees.” That wording is TMZ’s reproduction, not a quotation independently checked against the court order. Did the court increase Washington’s child support?
TMZ later reported that Renner asked for at least $35,000 per month in a filing in Los Angeles County seeking to collect under the North Carolina order. That is a reported request, not evidence that a court ordered Washington to pay that amount. TMZ Sports report on the later request
The reporting available here does not establish whether the California request was granted, denied, or withdrawn, or what the current status of that proceeding is. It also does not show that the Mavericks’ extension led to a new support order or explain the court’s reasoning.
