What the 2024 preliminary result means
Scroll.in reported that the preliminary examination took place on 17 November 2024 and that the result was announced on 5 December 2024 under Advertisement No. 1242/OSSC. The report said 533 candidates were shortlisted for the written examination for 26 Traffic Constable posts under the State Transport Authority. These figures are from Scroll’s report; the original OSSC preliminary-result notice was not available to verify them independently.
A preliminary shortlist is not a final selection or appointment. Scroll described the recruitment stages as the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Physical Standard Test and Certificate Verification. Being shortlisted for the written examination means proceeding to that next stage, subject to OSSC notices and the applicable recruitment rules.
How to check and download the result
- Go to the official OSSC website.
- Open the site’s Results section and look for a notice or result PDF specifically titled for Traffic Constable-2024 and the preliminary examination.
- Open the document and use its search function to look for your roll number or other identifier requested in the notice. Check the notice’s instructions before treating a match as confirmation.
- If the correct result document is available, download it and save a copy. You may print it for your records, but follow any current OSSC instructions about documents required for the next stage.
Scroll’s 5 December 2024 report provided this general download route. OSSC’s site currently has a Results area, but the specific 2024 preliminary-result PDF was not verified as still accessible. Do not rely on an unrelated search result or a document for a different Traffic Constable recruitment stage.

The portal lists technical assistance at 0674-2394466 and administrative assistance at 0674-2393770, with hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on official days. Confirm the current contact information and hours on the site before calling.

The preliminary result is a historical update, not a reliable indicator of the recruitment’s current status. Consult OSSC’s current notices for any later-stage result, certificate-verification instruction or appointment update. A third-party reproduction of a later marks notice states that a final select list was published on 4 April 2025 and that marks were available through candidate login from 30 May to 13 June 2025; that reported access window has passed and should not be treated as currently open. Verify any later status directly with OSSC.
