POWERGRID’s 2024 recruitment for 25 Company Secretary Professional (On Contract) positions is closed. Applications were accepted from 25 December 2024 through 16 January 2025; the opportunity is not open as of 8 October 2026. The posts supported POWERGRID subsidiaries and special purpose vehicle (SPV) companies, not regular POWERGRID employment.
What the 25 posts were—and who would employ the selected candidates
POWERGRID’s Advertisement No. CC/13/2024 invited applications for Company Secretary Professional engagements on a fixed-term contract. The 25 advertised vacancies were for requirements in subsidiaries and SPV companies. Candidates were to be empanelled on merit, and appointment offers depended on actual requirements communicated by those entities; selection did not guarantee an offer.

Eligibility stated in Advertisement No. CC/13/2024
- Professional qualification: Associate Membership of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
- Experience: At least one year of post-qualification experience in the company secretariat of a listed or unlisted company. Internship and training did not count.
- Age: No more than 29 years on the application deadline, 16 January 2025, with category relaxations as stated in the notice.
The work covered company-secretariat responsibilities such as preparing agendas, minutes and official letters; conducting board, committee and general-body meetings; and meeting requirements under the Companies Act and other applicable rules.

Selection process
Eligible, shortlisted applicants were to be interviewed. POWERGRID reserved the right to hold a qualifying screening test if required; the advertisement set qualifying marks for the test and interview. Candidates could choose Hindi or English for the screening test or interview. Any engagement was subject to medical fitness.
Application process and fee: historical details
Applications were online only through POWERGRID’s registration system, and the window has ended. The 2024 notice listed a non-refundable fee of Rs. 400, with exemptions for SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen applicants. It called for a photograph, signature, date-of-birth proof, ICSI qualification and marksheets, experience evidence, and applicable category or disability certificates. These are details of the closed recruitment, not current application instructions. POWERGRID’s job-opportunities page marks the window closed and lists a closure notice dated 29 April 2026.
Contract duration and advertised compensation
The advertisement described a temporary two-year engagement, potentially extendable in one-year increments up to five years in total, depending on requirements and performance. It explicitly said the contract did not create a right to regular employment with POWERGRID or relaxation in recruitment for regular posts.
For this 2024 recruitment only, the notice advertised a Rs. 30,000–1,20,000 pay band and initial basic pay of Rs. 30,000, plus IDA, HRA and perks at 35% of basic pay. It also listed leave, EPF/EPS, gratuity and medical coverage, subject to the advertisement’s terms and limits. These were the advertised terms, not a current or guaranteed offer.
