No. As of 8 October 2026, Lotterywest lists the next Oz Lotto draw for 13 October with a $4 million jackpot—not $70 million. The $70 million figure appears in a News24 video published on 27 January 2025, but the available information does not confirm that it is the original source of this headline or identify the precise draw the headline referred to.
What happened to the $70 million jackpot?
The headline describes a Tuesday draw with a $70 million jackpot, but that amount is not current. Lotterywest’s game page lists a $4 million jackpot for the next draw, scheduled for 13 October 2026. Its results page shows the latest completed draw as 6 October 2026 (Draw 1703). Check the Lotterywest OZ Lotto page for the current jackpot and the official results page for draw outcomes.
A News24 video dated 27 January 2025 reported that a $70 million Tuesday draw was expected after a $50 million jackpot went unwon. That is one possible historical context, not confirmation of the headline’s date or origin. The specific draw behind the headline remains unverified.
When are entries due and when is the draw?
Lotterywest lists Tuesday entry closure at 5:25 p.m. AWST and the draw at 6 p.m. AWST. AWST is UTC+8; the equivalent local clock time depends on where you are in Australia. Check the rules and cut-off of the operator through which you buy your entry, and do not assume the Lotterywest times apply to every jurisdiction.

How does an Oz Lotto line work?
A standard game selects seven numbers from 1 to 47. Ten balls are drawn: seven main numbers and three supplementary numbers. Matching all seven main numbers wins Division 1; supplementary numbers help determine selected lower divisions. Lotterywest gives the Division 1 odds for one standard game as 1 in 62,891,499.
That figure is for Division 1 on one standard game, not the chance of winning any prize. Buying more lines means entering more combinations, but no number-picking strategy changes the chance that a particular combination is drawn.

What did the latest completed draw pay?
Lotterywest’s results for Draw 1703 on 6 October 2026 show no Division 1 winner. Two Division 2 winners each received a dividend of $136,956.15. Those are results for that draw only; they do not predict the prize pool or winner count in a later draw.
Was $70 million a record?
The available material does not establish whether the headline’s $70 million amount was a record at the time. Lotterywest says Oz Lotto’s largest jackpot to date was $100 million, while the Oz Lotteries help article gives a conflicting date for that jackpot. Because the sources disagree on when it occurred, the date should not be stated as settled.

- Let's face it you don't want to give someone a winning scratch off ticket that shows they won a million dollars on it, you would probably lose friends and family if you did that. We heard your complaints and made our winning amounts 10k and 50k. That allows you to choose between the good, the bad, but not the ugly.
- Includes a total of 8 tickets. You will get 4 of the "Big Time Millions" design, and 4 of the "Jackpot Jubilee" design. The "Big time Millions" is a guaranteed $50,000 winner, the "Jackpot Jubilee" is a guaranteed $10,000 winner. In addition to those winning amounts, each ticket also wins an additional $30 for the top game.
- Each ticket measures 8 x 4 inches and includes 2 separate games per ticket. The back is very realistic but also has plenty of info telling them it's fake after they read the fine print, it's hidden enough to fool just about anyone. We didn't just phone in the back text either, the back alone is a crack up.
- Printed using HRP Technology (Hyper Realistic Printing). Some other tickets look ok on the front but once you see the back you can see how fake they look. Compare the front and especially the back of ours to anybody else's, you can see we went that extra mile on our design for both sides. Includes barcodes and scan codes just like the real thing. For the final touch we also added perforation on the top and bottom for that real lottery ticket feel
- Makes a great gift idea. Great for parties, social gathering, work / office parties, holidays, birthdays and any other special occasion. Also great for when you are just hanging out with friends.
