The company built software to discover and manage non-human identities—credentials used by applications, services, and other automated systems. SailPoint completed its acquisition of Entro on June 29, 2026; its announcement said Entro’s solutions were available to SailPoint customers as standalone offerings while native integration continued.
What happened in Entro Security’s $18 million funding round?
Entro announced the Series A on June 18, 2024. SecurityWeek reported that Dell Technologies Capital led the round and angel investors also participated. Entro said the funding would support the expansion of its global operations. SecurityWeek’s report covered the announcement.
The same report described a plan to grow the team from 35 employees to about 80 by the end of 2024. That was a target announced at the time, not confirmation that the company reached it.
What did Entro Security’s software do?
Entro focused on non-human identity (NHI) security: identifying and governing credentials that software and automated processes use to access systems. SailPoint describes NHIs as including service accounts, API keys, application tokens, personal access tokens, and OAuth grants. These identities can be difficult to track because they are created and used across cloud services, developer tools, and business applications.

SailPoint’s descriptions of Entro’s capabilities include discovery and inventory, classification, posture management, detection and response, and lifecycle management. The product also sought secrets, tokens, and certificates in developer environments such as codebases, CI/CD pipelines, and container registries. SailPoint’s acquisition announcement and its current non-human identity product page describe these capabilities and the broader product positioning.
Who owns Entro Security now?
SailPoint announced that it completed its acquisition of Entro Security on June 29, 2026. The announcement said Entro’s solutions were available to SailPoint customers as standalone offerings while native integration continued. Entro’s two co-founders joined SailPoint’s technology organization. SailPoint did not disclose the acquisition’s financial terms.
What growth and impact figures did Entro report?
Entro later published figures about its growth and security activity. These are company-reported figures, not independently verified market measurements or benchmarks:
- Entro said its annual recurring revenue grew 500% year over year in 2024, its customer base grew 300%, and its employee count grew by more than 200%. These figures appeared in a company release distributed through GlobeNewswire on December 3, 2024: Entro’s 2024 growth announcement.
- In the same release, Entro said its platform covered 2.9 million additional identities, prevented 17 confirmed breach attempts, and eliminated 1.1 million exposed secrets during 2024.
- Entro said its analysis of customer experiences indicated up to 90% lower exposure of sensitive secrets and 80% faster total response and remediation times. The company presented these as outcomes based on its own analysis, not independent benchmarks, in a November 7, 2024 release: Entro’s product and outcomes announcement.
These numbers provide context about what Entro said it achieved before the acquisition. They do not establish how the product performed for every customer or how it compares with other vendors.

Why non-human identity security matters to organizations
Applications and automated services need credentials to communicate with other systems. If those credentials are overlooked, exposed, overprivileged, or left active after they are no longer needed, they can create security risks. NHI security tools aim to help organizations find these credentials, understand what they can access and who is responsible for them, monitor their use, and manage their lifecycle.
Entro’s described focus combined discovery of identities and secrets with governance and response capabilities. Evaluating any product in this category requires looking at its coverage and controls in an organization’s actual environment—not just the number of identities it finds. Relevant dimensions include discovery across cloud and developer systems, ownership attribution, credential lifecycle controls, and detection of unusual use. SailPoint’s public descriptions establish the capabilities it associates with Entro, but they are not an independent comparison of vendors.
