Nintex announced Amit Mathradas as its CEO on March 3, 2023, naming him to succeed Eric Johnson. Mathradas had most recently been president and chief operating officer of Avalara. He later left Nintex for Five9: his appointment as Five9 CEO took effect February 2, 2026, so the 2023 Nintex announcement does not describe his current role.

What Nintex announced in 2023

Nintex said Mathradas would become CEO on March 3, 2023, succeeding Eric Johnson, who had held the role for five years. In its announcement distributed by PR Newswire, the company described the appointment as part of its effort to develop a broader enterprise automation platform. That description reflects Nintex’s own positioning at the time.

Mathradas said in the announcement: “Nintex has built a reputation as a company with deep process expertise, to help customers eliminate manual processes, manage process risk and compliance, and improve communications.” He continued: “A passion for technology and commitment to continuous improvement were the cornerstones upon which Nintex was born and remain a part of our identity today. And that’s why it’s a privilege to join the company at such an exciting time in its history.” These are his remarks in the company announcement, not an independent assessment of Nintex.

Mathradas’s roles before and after Nintex

Mathradas had served as Avalara’s president and COO immediately before joining Nintex. A December 17, 2025 SEC filing dates his Avalara tenure from March 2019 through January 2023 and his Nintex CEO tenure from March 2023. The filing also lists prior leadership roles at PayPal and Web.com.

His later move is relevant to anyone reading the 2023 headline as current news. Five9 announced on December 17, 2025 that Mathradas would become its CEO, effective February 2, 2026. Five9’s executive biography, checked October 8, 2026, lists him as CEO and recounts his work at Nintex, Avalara, PayPal, Web.com, and Dell.

Who leads Nintex now?

The cited announcements and filings establish Mathradas’s appointment and his later move to Five9, but they do not identify a successor at Nintex. They are therefore not enough to name Nintex’s current CEO.
