Tom Brady’s watches draw attention for two reasons: the watches themselves range from recognizable sports models to rare complications, and some have a documented connection to one of football’s most famous careers. Sotheby’s 2024 catalogue describes selected lots as “Owned and Worn by Tom Brady”; a later reported auction result put one of those watches in the spotlight again. Neither the catalogue nor a headline price tells you what Brady’s entire collection is worth.
What watches are documented as owned and worn by Tom Brady?
Sotheby’s 2024 The GOAT Collection: Watches & Treasures from Tom Brady catalogue describes a selection of watches as “Owned and Worn by Tom Brady.” The listed pieces span current-era sports watches, complicated designs and vintage models. The catalogue documents the lots it offered; it should not be read as a complete inventory of watches Brady has owned or still owns.
Sports watches and recognizable designs
- An IWC Pilot’s Watch TOP GUN Edition SFTI and several other IWC watches.
- A Tudor Black Bay 58 “Friends of Hodinkee.”
- An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 50th Anniversary chronograph.
- A Richard Mille RM 35-03 “Baby Nadal.”
- A Rolex GMT-Master II “Batman,” a diamond-set Rolex Day-Date and a Rolex Yacht-Master II.
Complications and vintage pieces
- A 1917 Patek Philippe Grand Complication retailed by Tiffany & Co.
- Vintage Rolex Daytonas, plus Patek Philippe references 3970 and 3700/11.
- A unique Audemars Piguet Royal Oak flying tourbillon made for Brady.
These descriptions help explain the range of the auction selection, but they do not establish that every listed watch sold, nor do they provide a valuation for Brady’s remaining watches.
What happened to Brady’s F.P. Journe Vagabondage II?
WatchPro reported that Brady’s F.P. Journe Vagabondage II sold at Sotheby’s in June 2026 for $960,000, which the publication called a record for that reference. The same report says the reference was produced in 2010 and 2011, with a limit of 69 platinum pieces. The $960,000 figure is a reported realized price for one specific auctioned watch—not an estimate, a retail price, an asking price or a price guide for every Vagabondage II. What watch did Brady wear at Super Bowl LIX?
In a report updated February 9, 2025, AS USA identified the watch Brady wore during his Super Bowl LIX broadcast debut as a Jacob & Co Yellow Sapphire Caviar Tourbillon. The outlet reported a price of $740,000 and described the watch’s baguette-cut gemstones. That is a media-reported price, not evidence Brady paid that amount or that the watch changed hands for it. Why do Brady’s watches attract attention?
The objects are varied and distinctive
The catalogue brings together familiar sports-watch names, precious-metal and diamond-set designs, vintage references and technically elaborate pieces. A unique tourbillon or limited-production reference can attract interest on its own; the brand and model are separate considerations from who owned a particular example.

Provenance connects a particular watch to Brady
For a collector, provenance means the documented history of a specific object. Sotheby’s lot descriptions provide a stated ownership-and-wear connection for the lots they label that way. That connection can make an individual watch more newsworthy, but it is not a universal rule that celebrity ownership raises the value of any watch. Nor does one auction result establish the market value of Brady’s other watches.
Brady’s interest has a reported backstory
Hodinkee reported in October 2024 that Brady traced his watch interest to buying an IWC GST Automatic Alarm at Tourneau in Manhattan after his first Super Bowl win in 2002. The account also notes his earlier TAG Heuer ambassadorship and an IWC ambassadorship beginning in 2019. Does celebrity ownership make a watch more valuable?
It can add a provenance story that collectors may find meaningful, but the evidence here supports only particular watches and particular outcomes—not a general premium or predictable return. To assess a price claim, keep four things distinct:
- Provenance: What documentation links this exact watch to its former owner?
- Reference and complications: Is it the same model and configuration as the one in a reported sale?
- Materials and design: Are precious metals, gemstones, rarity or a special commission relevant to the specific piece?
- Price type: Is the number a realized auction result, an estimate, a retail price or an asking price?
The Vagabondage II’s reported $960,000 sale is an auction result for one Brady-owned example. The Jacob & Co figure is a reported price, not a documented sale. Neither number is a sound basis for valuing an ordinary example or the rest of Brady’s collection.

What the auction result says—and what it does not
WatchPro quoted John Reardon, founder of Collectability, describing new buyers as “flush with cash and determined to make a killing buying and selling,” and saying F.P. Journe is “at the top of a mania supported by an enthusiastic crowd with a common interest in seeing record after record break.” Those are Reardon’s opinions about market sentiment, not market-wide statistics. The reported Brady sale illustrates attention around a rare watch with notable provenance; it cannot by itself show that celebrity ownership caused the result or that similar watches will appreciate.
