The date is now in the past. “2024” refers to the recruitment cycle, not the year the exam was scheduled to take place.
Which OSSC CHSL exam was scheduled for February 16?
The announcement concerned the 2024-II Specialist Posts/Services recruitment under Advertisement No. 4603/OSSC, associated with Odisha’s Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment. Scroll reported on January 10, 2025, that the preliminary exam was scheduled for February 16 in OMR mode. Scroll’s report and Hindustan Times’ coverage described the same date.
Scroll reported that the recruitment aimed to fill 324 Soil Conservation Extension Worker vacancies, with selection stages consisting of prelims, mains and certificate verification. These are details attributed to contemporaneous news reports; the historical official notice was not available at the linked destination.
Do not confuse it with the earlier 2024 cycle
OSSC CHSL coverage can refer to two separate recruitment announcements. The earlier cycle, Advertisement No. 1465/OSSC, was reported in May 2024 with a written exam date of July 21, 2024. The February 16, 2025 date belongs to the later 2024-II cycle, Advertisement No. 4603/OSSC.

What was reported about the prelims format?
Hindustan Times described the preliminary test as carrying 150 marks and listed arithmetic, data interpretation, logical reasoning and analytical ability, general mental ability, current events of national and international importance, and computer and internet awareness among the syllabus topics. Scroll’s January 28, 2025, admit-card update reported 150 questions for 150 marks and a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. These are secondary-source reports, not independently confirmed here against the original OSSC notice.
That January update also reported that admit cards would be released on February 10 and that the exam hours were 10 a.m. to noon. Those dates and operational details are historical; they should not be treated as current exam instructions.
