Amazon used invitation-only access for Nintendo Switch 2 around launch, but later U.S.-focused reporting said some listings could be purchased without an invitation. That does not establish the live status for every listing, account, seller, or region. Check the Amazon product page for your location before relying on an older article or search result.
Is Nintendo Switch 2 still invite-only on Amazon?
There is no basis to treat “invite-only” as a universal current Amazon rule. The console launched on June 5, 2025, and invitation-only access was reported as a launch-era approach. An August 18, 2026 report said some Amazon listings had become purchasable without an invitation, but it is secondary reporting focused on U.S. shoppers—not confirmation of the live checkout experience for every customer. iTechGuides’ August 2026 report describes the change; Amazon’s current product page is the place to verify what you can buy now.

On the listing, look for whether it offers a normal purchase or an invitation request. If it requires an invitation, follow the listing’s instructions; if it shows a purchase option, review the seller and checkout details before placing an order. A search result, another shopper’s account, or a listing for a different bundle may not reflect the option available to you.
What to check on an Amazon listing before ordering
Availability and purchase terms can vary with the listing or product variation, account, seller, and delivery ZIP code. Check these details on the actual page and again at checkout:
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
- Purchase option: Confirm whether the page offers direct purchase or asks you to request an invitation.
- Seller: Check who is selling the console; do not assume every listing is sold by Amazon.
- Total price: Compare the checkout total, not just a search-result price, and note whether the listing is for a console or a bundle.
- Delivery estimate: Review the estimate shown for your address, since delivery timing can depend on location.
- Bundle and region: Confirm exactly what is included and whether the console and any included game or download code are intended for your region.
These checks matter because a manufacturer’s advertised product or price does not establish Amazon’s stock, seller, price, or delivery terms.

Nintendo’s U.S. product page lists two bundles, but these are Nintendo-stated U.S. offers—not evidence that Amazon carries them at the same price or has them in stock. Nintendo lists the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle at $549.99 MSRP. Its Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle is listed at $529.99 MSRP and marked available October 22, 2026. See Nintendo of America’s Switch 2 product page for its U.S. offers.

Other announced bundles are region-specific and should not be treated as U.S. Amazon offers:
- Japan: Nintendo announced a Japan-only Choose-Your-Game bundle for November 12, 2026, at ¥63,980. It includes a console and a download code for one of three Nintendo games, redeemable through Nintendo eShop. Nintendo’s Japanese announcement gives the offer details.
- United Kingdom: Nintendo UK announced holiday bundles including Switch 2 with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort for October 22 and Switch 2 with Mario Kart World for October 29. Those announcements describe UK offers, not U.S. Amazon availability. Nintendo UK’s announcement has the dates.
Nintendo announced the console’s June 5, 2025 release date in its April 2, 2025 release announcement.
