NICL’s 2025 recruitment for 266 Administrative Officers (Scale I) is no longer open: online applications and fee payment were accepted only from 12 June through 3 July 2025, inclusive. The notice covered 170 Generalist and 96 Specialist vacancies. Its exam dates were tentative, and the information available here does not establish whether the exams ultimately took place on those dates or the final result and appointment status.

What NICL advertised in 2025

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) announced 266 tentative Administrative Officer (Generalist and Specialist), Scale I posts. The notice reserved NICL’s right to vary the vacancies.

Track Vacancies Who it is for
Generalist 170 Applicants meeting the notice’s general degree, marks and age requirements.
Specialist 96 Applicants meeting the education and any experience requirements for a listed specialist discipline.

Specialist streams included Doctors (MBBS), Legal, Finance, Information Technology and Automobile Engineers; the notice also listed specialist backlog vacancies. Applicants could apply for only one discipline. If a candidate submitted more than one valid application, NICL retained only the latest completed application and forfeited fees paid for the others.

Application window and fee

Applications were online only, from 12 June to 3 July 2025 inclusive. The notice stated: “Candidates should apply through On-Line mode only. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.” That application window has closed.

Candidate category Application fee, including GST
SC, ST or PwBD ₹250
Other candidates ₹1,000

The fee was non-refundable, and candidates bore any applicable transaction charges. These amounts applied to the 2025 application window and are not a current payment option.

Eligibility depended on the role and category

The 2025 notice set the age range at 21–30 years as of 1 May 2025, with relaxations for eligible categories. It also set degree, minimum-mark and cutoff-date conditions for Generalists. Specialist applicants had to meet the qualifications for their chosen discipline and any experience requirement specified for it.

Because education and experience rules differ across streams, there is no single qualification that covers every Specialist role. Candidates assessing a past application or comparing the tracks should consult the detailed NICL recruitment notice for the exact discipline, category, marks and age-relaxation rules. A candidate’s category and reservation eligibility also affected the applicable fee and vacancy consideration.

Selection stages and marks

The selection process described in the notice had three stages: Phase I, Phase II and an interview for candidates shortlisted after Phase II.

What the notice said about exam dates

NICL’s notice tentatively scheduled Phase I for 20 July 2025 and Phase II for 31 August 2025. It also allowed dates and centres to change. Those dates should therefore be treated as the notice’s proposed schedule, not as verified dates on which the exams occurred. The information available here does not confirm the eventual exam schedule, final results, interviews or appointments.
