The reported application deadline was February 13, 2025. It was advertised as EET-2024 through GATE 2024 under Advertisement 19/23, despite 2025 headlines about the recruitment.
What the 475-post NTPC recruitment covered
Contemporaneous reporting by Scroll Staff described 475 Engineering Executive Trainee vacancies across five disciplines in the EET-2024 recruitment through GATE 2024, Advertisement 19/23. The reported distribution was:
| Discipline | Reported vacancies |
|---|---|
| Electrical | 135 |
| Mechanical | 180 |
| Electronics/Instrumentation | 85 |
| Civil | 50 |
| Mining | 25 |
These figures and the deadline are from Scroll’s February 13, 2025 report, rather than a currently available detailed NTPC notice: Scroll’s report on the NTPC recruitment.
Application deadline and current status
The reported last date to apply was February 13, 2025. That date has passed, so applicants cannot treat the 475-post campaign as open. Do not use an old application link or assume that this notice has been extended; the available reporting does not establish a later extension or separate closure notice.

How this differs from NTPC’s later EET listings
NTPC’s official Jobs at NTPC page lists later EET-2025 recruitment drives through GATE-2025. These are separate notices, not additions to the 475-post EET-2024 campaign.

How NTPC’s engineering trainee selection and training work
NTPC says engineering ET recruitment uses GATE results followed by a combination of aptitude and behavioral tests, group discussion and personal interview. The stated process is general context; it does not establish the exact stage-by-stage terms of the historical 475-post notice. See NTPC’s recruitment-system page.
NTPC’s ET induction page describes 52 weeks of paid induction training, including theoretical input, on-the-job training, personality development and management modules. The page was last updated October 1, 2026: NTPC ET induction and training.

Verify recruitment messages before responding
NTPC warns that fake interview calls and requests for refundable deposits have circulated. The company says employment communications are sent by post or through official NTPC employee email addresses. Verify any notice or contact through NTPC’s official jobs page and careers and recruitment information; do not send money in response to a claimed refundable recruitment deposit.

The detailed original notice for the 475-post campaign was not available from NTPC’s careers site for verification. The cited reporting supports the vacancy count, discipline breakdown and February 13, 2025 deadline, but not exact eligibility marks, age limits, category relaxations, application fees or pay. Those details should not be inferred from a different EET recruitment or a third-party copy.
