Stocktwits’ October 2026 reports captured a fast-changing mood around NVIDIA: one described retail sentiment turning bullish as the shares set a record, while another said sentiment had shifted to bearish within 24 hours. The articles connected the discussion to a broader AI-stock rally, bullish analyst views and a reported—but prospective—SpaceX chip-buying plan. These are dated snapshots, not a live reading of Stocktwits or a consensus about NVIDIA’s value.
What Stocktwits reported about NVDA sentiment
| Report date | Sentiment label reported | Market context in the article |
|---|---|---|
| October 5, 2026 | Retail sentiment moved to “bullish” from “neutral” the previous day. | Stocktwits said NVDA rose 2.1% on Monday and reached a fresh all-time high. Stocktwits’ October 5 report. |
| October 7, 2026 | Retail sentiment had slipped from “bullish” to “bearish” over 24 hours. | The article reported a record price of $243.37 in Tuesday’s session amid a wider AI-sector rally. Stocktwits’ October 7 report. |
The labels do not establish that all Stocktwits users agreed. The reports do not state enough about the sentiment methodology, sample size or message volume to treat these labels as a representative survey. They also differ in their time windows: one compares with the previous day, while the other describes a change over 24 hours.
What may have been driving the discussion
Analyst optimism and expectations for AI spending
The October 5 article presented a bullish case centered on demand for AI infrastructure and enterprise applications. It quoted tech analyst Dan Ives arguing that Wall Street earnings estimates could be too low over the next year. Stocktwits attributed to him the view that estimates were “massively underestimated” over the next six to eight quarters. That is an analyst opinion—not NVIDIA guidance, a measured result or a guarantee.
The same report said BNP Paribas raised its NVDA price target to $345 from $285 while maintaining an “Outperform” rating. A target is an analyst estimate, not an observed share price or promised return. Stocktwits also reported that Ives pointed to Big Tech spending and enterprise AI use cases as sources of momentum.

A broad AI-sector rally and a reported SpaceX plan
The October 7 article linked the reported record to a wider AI-sector rally and relayed a Financial Times report that SpaceX was looking to raise $40 billion to buy Nvidia semiconductors. This was described as a prospective financing and purchasing plan, not a completed financing, order or sale. The report does not prove that this plan caused NVDA’s share move.
A reported buyback authorization
An October 2 Stocktwits roundup said NVIDIA’s board authorized a $150 billion increase in its share-repurchase program, leaving $235 billion of authorization, and described the program as running through fiscal 2028, ending January 2028. Stocktwits called the increase the largest in company history. These figures and characterizations are secondary reporting; the roundup is not, by itself, primary confirmation of NVIDIA’s authorization. Read the October 2 Stocktwits roundup.

How to read these snapshots
- Separate mood from fundamentals. A platform sentiment label describes reported user mood; it does not establish NVIDIA’s business performance, valuation or future returns.
- Distinguish events from opinions and plans. A reported share-price record is different from an analyst price target, and both differ from a prospective financing or purchase.
- Keep the dates attached. The sentiment and price figures above describe specific October 2026 reports, not what Stocktwits users think now.
- Do not treat the coverage as a full risk assessment. These reports do not resolve questions about valuation, competition, export policy or NVIDIA’s current operating performance.
The articles cited here are Stocktwits’ secondary reporting. They do not provide a live sentiment reading or enough methodology to assess how representative the labels are. Their bullish-market-news framing should not be mistaken for a complete account of the factors that can affect NVDA.
