As of October 8, 2026, Netflix’s U.S. plans cost $8.99, $19.99, or $26.99 per month. The tiers mainly change ads, picture quality, downloads, and how many people can watch at once—not the size of the general catalog. There is no verified, apples-to-apples current count showing how many total titles Netflix and every major U.S. rival offer, so the most useful comparison is plan features plus whether each service has the shows and films you actually want.
Netflix prices and plan differences
Netflix’s official U.S. plan page lists these monthly prices and features as of October 8, 2026. Prices and extra-member eligibility can vary by location or package; check the plan page before subscribing.
| U.S. plan | Monthly price | Ads and video | Simultaneous devices | Downloads | Extra members |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard with ads | $8.99 | Ads; 1080p. Most movies and TV shows are available; unavailable titles are marked. | 2 | On 2 supported devices at a time | Not stated on the plan page |
| Standard | $19.99 | No ads; 1080p | 2 | On 2 supported devices at a time | Option to add 1 member who lives elsewhere |
| Premium | $26.99 | No ads; 4K Ultra HD and HDR; spatial audio | 4 | On 6 supported devices at a time | Up to 2 members |

The price jump from Standard with ads to Standard buys an ad-free experience, not a larger general library. Premium adds higher resolution, more simultaneous viewing capacity, and more download-device capacity. Those features may justify the cost for a household with compatible screens and multiple viewers; they do not establish that Premium unlocks more of Netflix’s catalog.

How Netflix compares with rival services and bundles
A bundle is not directly interchangeable with three separate subscriptions. Disney’s U.S. help page lists current pricing for new subscribers and includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN options. Hulu’s official page also describes a Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle with two options. The services included and their service-level rules differ, so compare the exact package rather than treating either bundle as the price of each service bought separately.
Disney’s page, published September 23, 2026, notes that existing subscribers may see price changes on or after October 21, 2026, and that third-party-billed prices may vary. Hulu’s bundle page was published April 24, 2026. Check both pages for the current package contents and price before making a decision:

The available verified prices do not support a complete current price-and-feature table for every major U.S. rival. Avoid comparing Netflix’s current prices with older rival price lists: plan names, ads, bundles, and billing terms change.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why a total-title count cannot settle the comparison
“How much content” sounds like a simple number, but a catalog total depends on what is counted: a film, season, episode, short, or separately licensed version may each be treated differently. Catalogs also vary by country and date. Netflix itself says, “Netflix content varies by region and may change over time,” in its Help Center.

Comparable, current full-catalog counts for Netflix and every major U.S. rival were not established in the available sources. That means there is no defensible total-title ranking to use here. A count is useful only when services are measured for the same territory and date with the same counting rules.
Popularity rankings measure a narrower slice
Reelgood’s Streaming Service Popularity Index, updated October 1, 2026, measures how many titles each service carries from the U.S. Top 100 popular films and Top 100 popular shows over a trailing 30-day period, then converts the average to a 0–10 scale. It can help indicate depth among popular titles, but it is not a count of every title in a service’s library. Do not read an index score as catalog size: Reelgood’s index and methodology.

Global database figures are not U.S. service rankings
In a November 2025 database analysis, Reelgood reported that only 21% of approximately 68,000 series it tracked globally were available on its named major services, and fewer than 12% of more than 280,000 tracked movies were available on those services combined. Those are global database figures for a group of services—not current U.S. totals for Netflix or any individual rival—and cannot identify which service has the largest U.S. library: Reelgood’s database analysis.

How to decide which subscription gives you more value
- Start with the titles you want. Check availability for the specific shows and films you care about, and confirm the result for your country. A broad total cannot tell you whether a service has the titles your household will watch.
- Compare the right plan feature by feature. Note whether ads are included, what resolution you can use, how many devices can stream at once, and the plan’s download limits. For Netflix, these differ by tier as shown above.
- Price the exact bundle. Write down every included service and any relevant billing or eligibility rule. A bundle can offer several services for one price, but its contents and terms are not identical to buying each service separately.
- Use a consistent catalog measure if you use one. Look for the same country, measurement date, and title-counting method across services. Treat a popularity index as a popularity measure, not a complete library count.
- Recheck before subscribing. Prices and catalogs change; confirm the current plan page and title availability rather than relying on an old comparison.
