The NBA’s “nearing” $76 billion media deal is no longer pending. On July 24, 2024, the league announced 11-year agreements with Disney, NBCUniversal and Amazon, covering the 2025–26 through 2035–36 seasons. The roughly $76 billion figure is the reported aggregate value—not an official year-by-year payment schedule.
What the NBA’s new media deal includes
The agreements keep Disney, the NBA’s existing partner, and add NBCUniversal and Amazon as national media partners. Games will be distributed across broadcast television, cable and streaming rather than through a single network or service. The NBA described the agreements as running for 11 seasons, from 2025–26 through 2035–36. The league’s announcement identifies the partners and term.
The deal was estimated at about $76 billion in aggregate. In June 2024, Commissioner Adam Silver described that figure as an estimate while negotiations were underway; the league’s formal announcement confirmed the agreements but did not itemize payments by partner or season. It would therefore be misleading to treat the figure as a precise annual payment amount. Silver also noted that the negotiations involved broadcast, cable and streaming, as well as bidders making bets on how media would evolve. His June remarks provide that context.
Where national NBA games are shown
The partners’ platforms include free-to-air broadcast television, cable and subscription streaming. Which service carries a particular game depends on the schedule, so no single service should be assumed to include every nationally televised game.

The NBA said the agreements would put approximately 75 regular-season games on broadcast television each season, compared with a prior minimum of 15. That is a league-wide figure across broadcast partners, not a promise that each partner will carry 75 games. The agreements’ stated goal was to expand reach and accessibility, but viewers may still need to move between services to follow the national schedule.
What the 2025–26 schedule looked like
For the 2025–26 season specifically, the Associated Press reported that Prime Video had exclusive global coverage of 66 regular-season games, NBA Cup knockout-round games and the entire play-in tournament. The AP’s season-specific guide describes the practical distribution. These details apply to that season; check the current season’s listings rather than assuming the same slate or viewing instructions will continue unchanged.

What happened to TNT and Inside the NBA
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) did not receive the disputed U.S. national package awarded to Amazon. On July 24, 2024, the NBA said WBD’s proposal did not match Amazon Prime Video’s offer and that it had entered a long-term arrangement with Amazon. The league said its priority was maximizing the reach and accessibility of games. The NBA’s announcement includes its statement about the decision.
The dispute did not end the NBA’s relationship with WBD. In November 2024, the parties announced a separate 11-year partnership that resolved their disputes related to the media agreements. TNT Sports would continue producing Inside the NBA, with the program distributed on ESPN and ABC beginning in 2025–26. The partnership also included content and highlight rights, plus live-game rights in certain territories outside the United States. The NBA’s later announcement sets out those terms.

How to find a game—and what to budget for
- Find the game in the NBA’s schedule or your preferred listings and note the named broadcaster or service.
- Check whether that listing is for ABC, NBC, ESPN, Peacock or Prime Video; the national schedule is split among them.
- Confirm that you can access the named service in your location and under its current plan terms before game day.
Neither the announced aggregate deal value nor the number of broadcast games tells you what it will cost to watch. The agreements do not establish a universal viewing price, and the available sources do not provide current subscription prices. A viewer’s cost depends on the services they choose or already have, their location and current plan terms. Check each provider’s current offer before subscribing.
