Summer 2024 brought a varied set of farm-equipment announcements: new combines and tractors, utility vehicles, tillage tools and precision-agriculture systems. The launches included machines aimed at different farm jobs and regions, so horsepower alone is not enough to compare them. The overview below separates complete machines from technology add-ons and show demonstrations; it is a selection of reported announcements, not a comprehensive global inventory.
What was new in harvesting?
Combines
Several manufacturers expanded or formally launched combine lines. AGCO introduced the Gleaner T Series in Class 6, 7 or 8 configurations. Agriculture.com reported a two-speed Dura Drive transmission with shift-on-the-fly capability and speeds up to 25 mph. These are launch specifications, not independent field-test results. Case IH released the AF9 and AF10 single-rotor combines, completing the AF series that had begun earlier in 2024 with the AF11. The roundup lists 634 hp for the AF9 and 775 hp for the AF10, and describes a new corn-head series designed for the combines and late-model Axial-Flow machines. Agriculture.com.
New Holland officially launched its next-generation CR design on June 12, 2024, with the CR10 joining the previously previewed CR11. The manufacturer lists twin rotors and its Twin-Clean cleaning system for the line. Its published specifications are:

Other harvesting equipment and show plans
New Holland also announced planned North American debuts at Farm Progress Show, including a Class 9 CR combine, telehandler series, T7 tractor updates, a Forage Cruiser harvester and precision and digital technologies. Its announcement described a demonstration pairing a CR11 combine with Grain Cart Automation. A planned show debut or demonstration is not, by itself, confirmation of present dealer availability. Which tractors and utility machines were introduced?
Tractors
Fendt launched four 600 Vario models for North America: the 614, 616, 618 and 620 Vario, with rated power spanning 149 to 209 hp, according to Agriculture.com. That regional framing matters: the roundup does not establish a worldwide first. AGCO senior marketing manager David Soliday described the tractor as usable for row-crop work, loader applications and transport, and said it could be configured in different ways; those are a company representative’s product characterization. Massey Ferguson’s 9S Series made its North American debut in August 2024. The six-model range is rated from 285 to 425 hp and was presented for planting, baling and tillage. The manufacturer identifies an 8.4-litre AGCO Power engine, Dyna-VT transmission, Protect-U cab design and 90 GPM ECO pump. For context, Massey Ferguson tactical marketing manager Derek Reusser was quoted in the roundup saying suitable planting conditions had averaged “less than 12 days” over the preceding five years. That is a figure attributed to Reusser in the trade-press article; the underlying dataset is not established here, so it should not be treated as an independent climate statistic. Agriculture.com.
Utility tractors and UTVs
Bobcat announced the UT6066, UT6566 and UT6573 utility tractors on June 10, 2024, saying they would be available at select dealerships that summer. The company describes 12×12 power-shuttle transmissions; cabs are standard on the UT6566 and UT6573. It also lists an optional front-end loader with Bob-Tach attachment mounting. John Deere introduced the gas-powered Gator XUV 845 and diesel Gator XUV 875 in July 2024. Agriculture.com noted larger customizable cargo boxes and comfort updates. The roundup does not provide comparable prices or detailed performance testing for these utility vehicles. Agriculture.com.

Tillage equipment and guidance
Case IH’s Soil Command was reported as factory-fitted on selected Speed-Tiller 475 and VT-Flex 435 equipment for model year 2025. The roundup also describes Active Implement Guidance as a plug-and-play system intended to correct implement drift during planting, tillage and side-dressing. These offerings differ from a new tractor or combine: one is a factory equipment feature on selected implements, while the other is a guidance system. Agriculture.com.

John Deere introduced its first coulter chisel and updated its Minimum Tillage Series In-Line ripper. Michael Porter, the company’s go-to-market manager for tillage equipment, said the CC Series was developed to let farmers tackle primary tillage faster, and described working speeds of 7 mph as making it a “highly productive primary tillage tool.” These are manufacturer statements reproduced by Agriculture.com, not independent comparative tests. Retrofits, digital tools and automation
At its August 23, 2024 Farm Progress Show announcement, AGCO identified Precision Planting retrofit products for planters, air seeders, drills, sprayers, fertilizer applicators and combines. Named examples included Radicle Agronomics soil-sampling and analysis tools, SymphonyNozzle sprayer upgrades, and the CornerStone Planting System. AGCO also described a PTx Trimble OutRun autonomous grain-cart demonstration and beta testing ahead of wider availability in 2025. How to interpret these launches if you are comparing equipment
The announcements cover distinct jobs and purchase categories, so a useful comparison starts with fit rather than a brand-wide ranking. A combine’s class, capacity and harvesting setup do not compare directly with a tractor’s horsepower, and a retrofit system may be relevant only if it works with equipment already on the farm.
