LandVest Christie’s International Real Estate displayed that asking price on its listing accessed October 8, 2026; a Patch report published about three weeks earlier also said the mansion remained on the market at that price. Listing status and price can change, so the broker’s page is the best place to check for a current update.
What is for sale
The property is a large estate on Poplar Hill Drive in Farmington, a town in central Connecticut. The broker listing identifies the address as 50 Poplar Hill Drive and shows an asking price of $9.9 million: LandVest Christie’s International Real Estate listing. Realtor.com reported the 2025 listing at the same price, and Patch reported in September 2026 that it was still for sale at $9.9 million.
Published descriptions put the estate at about 51,000 square feet on 17.6 acres. The reported bedroom count varies: Realtor.com gives 19 bedrooms, while CT Insider reports 21. CT Insider also lists 40 bathrooms and seven kitchens; Realtor.com reports seven kitchens as well. The sources do not reconcile the bedroom figures, so neither count should be treated as definitive.
Reported features and amenities
Realtor.com and CT Insider describe a property with unusually extensive entertainment and guest facilities. Their reports mention a nightclub, casino room, cigar lounge, recording studio, guest and pool houses, and a helicopter pad. These are reported amenities, not an independent inspection of the estate.

Realtor.com reported that 50 Cent had said he recorded his 2005 album The Massacre in the home’s studio. That is an attributed account, not independently verified recording history.
Who owned the estate, and when?
- Mike Tyson to 50 Cent, 2003: A Hartford Courant report reproduced on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut website says 50 Cent bought the property from Tyson for $4.1 million.
- 50 Cent to Casey and Shera Askar, 2019: Realtor.com reported that the Askars bought it from 50 Cent for $2.9 million.
- Listed for $9.9 million, 2025: Realtor.com reported the estate’s return to the market at that asking price. The broker listing accessed October 8, 2026, still displayed $9.9 million.
The reported transaction amounts and current asking price describe different events. They do not, on their own, establish the home’s market value, anyone’s profit or loss, or the amount for which it might ultimately sell.

What the $9.9 million asking price does—and does not—tell you
An asking price is the seller’s stated price, not a completed sale, appraisal, or comparable-sales analysis. The available reporting does not establish a later sale or provide an appraisal of this property. It is therefore not enough to conclude that the mansion is worth $9.9 million or that its price has risen by a particular amount since a previous transaction.
There is also historical context that should not be confused with a completed deal: the 2016 Hartford Courant report said 50 Cent had an agreement to sell the estate for $8 million to a party proposing an assisted-living facility, but no plan had been submitted to Farmington land-use boards at that time. That report does not establish that the proposed conversion was approved or that the transaction closed.
