McDonald’s Australia announced on 9 July 2025 that McGriddles had joined its national breakfast menu after an earlier trial. The company described the range as “here to stay”; that signals a permanent addition at the time of the announcement, not a guarantee that the menu will never change.
What is a McGriddle?
McDonald’s Australia describes McGriddles as soft, maple-infused pancakes used in place of a bun, stacked with breakfast fillings such as bacon, egg and cheese, or sausage. The company says customers can also enjoy the pancakes on their own. These are the company’s menu descriptions, not an independent taste assessment. When did McGriddles come to Australia?
McDonald’s Australia’s announcement, dated 9 July 2025, said the range became available nationally from that Wednesday, following a trial earlier in the year. The company attributed the national menu addition to the response from Australian customers who tried it.
Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia, said: “Our Aussie fans absolutely obsessed over the sweet and savoury flavours of McGriddles when we trialled it earlier this year.” She also said: “Safe to say, we got the message and gave our iconic breakfast menu a glow up by adding it to the national menu.” Read the company’s 9 July 2025 announcement.

Are McGriddles a permanent menu item?
The announcement presented McGriddles as “here to stay” and said they were being added to the national menu. In that sense, McDonald’s Australia announced a permanent addition rather than a limited-time trial. It does not promise that the item or every variation will remain available indefinitely: restaurant menus and availability can change.
Where were McGriddles already available?
McDonald’s Australia said McGriddles had been available for over two decades in select markets, naming the United States, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong. That is the company’s description, not a complete list of markets or a specific launch date.
What time does Macca’s stop serving breakfast?
The 9 July 2025 launch announcement said the breakfast menu was available until 10:30 a.m. Current official menu information also says select breakfast items are available all day through the All Day Menu. Those statements refer to different dates and contexts; they do not establish that every McGriddles variation is served all day or that every restaurant follows identical hours.
