Its entry period ended at 5 p.m. AEST on August 6, 2024. The campaign offered 2,000 pairs of novelty winter boots shaped like Chicken McNuggets; the steps to enter then involved scanning a QR code on packaging and a boot-shaped nugget.
What were McDonald’s Nuggies?
Nuggies were limited-edition winter boots styled to resemble Chicken McNuggets. McDonald’s Australia brought them back for its #BootPursuit campaign, promoted as a giveaway celebrating the boot-shaped nugget.
McDonald’s said the boots first launched as a limited giveaway in 2022, with 50 pairs. In a 2024 retrospective, the company said those pairs were claimed in under six hours after more than 10,000 Australians sought them. That participation figure is McDonald’s own report, not an independently audited count. McDonald’s Australia’s 2024 announcement
