When does the Disney+ price increase take effect?
For existing U.S. subscribers on affected plans, Disney’s Help Center search result says the new price will appear in a billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026. That does not mean every subscriber is charged on October 21: the effective date depends on the account’s billing cycle. The Disney+ U.S. plans and prices help page also cautions that prices through third-party billing partners may vary.

Is my Disney+ plan going up?
Don’t assume your bill will match a headline price. Confirm the plan name, amount, and next billing date in the place that manages your subscription. If you pay through a third party, check that provider’s account and billing details as well as Disney’s information; partner pricing may differ.
- Compare the full plan name, including whether it has ads and which services are included.
- Check the next renewal date and the amount shown for that billing cycle.
- Identify who bills you—Disney or a third-party partner—before relying on a price or timing estimate.
Which Disney+ bundles are staying the same?
Reports say three bundles are not increasing: Disney+ and Hulu with ads, plus the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundles with ads and without ads. Other bundles in the reports do rise, including the Disney+ and Hulu Premium bundle and the two ESPN Select bundles listed above. A bundle is not automatically protected from a price change; compare the exact services and plan tier.

TechRadar reported that Disney described the increases as supporting investment in technology, features, and back-end improvements. That is Disney’s stated rationale as relayed by the outlet, not an independently verified explanation of the price changes.
Does the increase apply outside the United States?
The announced changes covered U.S. pricing. TechRadar reported on September 24, 2026 that Disney had not announced corresponding changes for UK or European subscribers at that point. That is not a guarantee that prices elsewhere will remain unchanged; subscribers outside the U.S. should check their local plan and billing information rather than apply these U.S. prices or dates to their accounts.

Should you cancel or change your Disney+ plan?
Decide based on the cost of the plan you actually have and the services you use—not the smallest number in a headline. A lower-priced bundle may include ads or omit a service you value, while a higher-priced tier may offer a different viewing experience. Compare monthly cost, ads, included services, billing channel, and your country’s available plans before switching.
Disney says subscribers can manage plans through DisneyPlus.com, and a changed plan is billed at the then-applicable price. Directly billed annual subscribers may be able to switch to a bundle and receive a prorated credit. Options and eligibility can depend on the account and biller, so review the current account flow and the provider that charges you before cancelling or downgrading. The reported October 21 date alone does not establish whether cancelling will prevent a particular upcoming charge.
