Manny Pacquiao was projected to earn far more than Mario Barrios for their July 19, 2025 fight, but those figures were pre-fight estimates—not confirmed payouts. The Sporting News reported a $12 million base purse and $17–18 million in estimated total earnings for Pacquiao; Barrios was projected to receive a $500,000–$1 million baseline and less than $2.5 million overall. Neither fighter’s final purse or pay-per-view share was disclosed in the official event materials located.
What were Pacquiao and Barrios expected to earn?
The Sporting News reported these pre-fight projections in 2025. They are estimates, not verified payments, and should not be read as net income after taxes, expenses, or other deductions.
| Fighter | Reported base or baseline | Reported projected total |
|---|---|---|
| Manny Pacquiao | $12 million base purse | $17–18 million |
| Mario Barrios | $500,000–$1 million baseline | Below $2.5 million |
Source for both rows: The Sporting News’ 2025 pre-fight report. Its publication date was not exposed in the search result. The report does not establish that either figure became the fighter’s final payout.
Are those the confirmed final purses?
No. The primary event materials located confirm the bout, its distribution, and its result, but do not disclose final purses or pay-per-view shares. Actual final earnings therefore remain unresolved. A separate purse-database result listed Pacquiao at $20 million, but its methodology and authoritative basis were not established, so it cannot verify his payout.
