As for the wine, a 2021 feature offered a favorable but limited tasting account of Edelheiss’s lineup. That is a reason to be curious, not proof of its quality today.
Is Rodney Foster worth a small fortune?
There is no reliable figure in the available reporting to support that claim. The sources reviewed do not document Foster’s personal assets or debts, the value of Edelheiss, or a net-worth calculation. A business association, even when documented, is not evidence of its founder’s personal wealth.
What is documented is narrower: Edelheiss’s company story names Rodney E. Foster and Reemt Peters as founders, and says Foster’s interest in Glühwein helped inspire the brand. That is the company’s own account, not an independent corporate filing. Edelheiss’s company story
A 2015 Black Enterprise profile also describes Foster as an Edelheiss co-founder. It recounts that he developed an interest in Glühwein while traveling, then began making wine at home and building a brand. The profile attributes this to Foster: “Once I tried it I knew that this was something that I wanted to share with people in the United States.”

A 2020 Blast report says Foster was planning a hemp-infused vodka line. That report does not supply financial details that would establish his current net worth. Together, these accounts describe business activity, not a complete wealth history.
What kind of wine is Edelheiss?
Edelheiss was presented as a German wine brand. A 2015 profile described its product as a German-imported spiced red wine. A 2021 BroadwayWorld feature listed four wines: Edelheiss Red, Sparkling White, Sparkling Rosé, and Riesling. That is a historical lineup, not confirmation that all four are currently produced or sold.

| Wine named in the 2021 feature | Description and suggested use in that feature |
|---|---|
| Edelheiss Red | Sweet and spiced; described as suitable slightly chilled or warmed for mulled-wine service. |
| Sparkling White | Listed as a sparkling wine; the feature suggested the sparkling wines for aperitif or celebration. |
| Sparkling Rosé | Listed as a sparkling wine; the feature suggested the sparkling wines for aperitif or celebration. |
| Riesling | Listed as a Riesling; the feature suggested it for food pairing. |
The feature reported that the wines were 100% organically certified and sourced from Germany’s Pfalz region. Those are claims reported by the article; the underlying certification and origin documents were not independently verified. The article also named ReserveBar and select Wegmans stores as purchase channels in 2021. Those past mentions do not establish current stock, prices, shipping eligibility, or retailer availability. But is Edelheiss any good?
The clearest available tasting evidence is that same 2021 BroadwayWorld feature: its writer said they sampled three Edelheiss wines and gave generally positive descriptions. For Edelheiss Red, the specific practical note was that it was sweet and could be served slightly chilled or warmed as mulled wine.
Rank #3
- The package dimension of the product is 11.5"L x 3"W x 3"H
- The package weight of the product is 3 pounds
- Country of origin is France
That is a favorable, firsthand account from one feature, but it is not enough to establish that Edelheiss is objectively excellent or that every wine—or a current bottle—will meet a particular standard. The account is dated, offers limited tasting detail, and does not provide a recognizable independent critic’s score. No current bottling, vintage, price, or independent tasting record is established here. If you find a bottle, treat the historical description as a clue to its style, not a guarantee of what is on the shelf today.

- Foster is identified as an Edelheiss co-founder by the company’s own story and a 2015 profile.
- The brand’s best-described style is a sweet, spiced red intended in part for mulled-wine service.
- A 2021 feature was positive about wines it sampled, but it does not settle the question of current quality.
- Neither a present-day net-worth figure for Foster nor current Edelheiss availability is established by these accounts.
Edelheiss is not Rodney Strong: the shared first name does not establish any affiliation between the unrelated winery and Foster’s brand.
