Kylie and Brett Jones of Hazelmere won the MSWA Mega Home Lottery grand prize announced on 11 September 2020: a City Beach home valued at $2.3 million and $1 million in cash. MSWA described the combined package as $3.3 million, not $3.2 million; the available reports do not explain the difference in the lower figure used in some headlines.
What Kylie and Brett Jones won
MSWA announced the couple as the grand-prize winners on 11 September 2020. Their winning ticket number was 156,785. The prize was a Webb & Brown-Neaves home in City Beach, valued at $2.3 million, plus $1 million cash. MSWA called the package a $3.3 million prize.
Why some headlines say $3.2 million
A West Australian headline used $3.2 million, although the same report’s text listed a $2.3 million home and $1 million cash. Those components total $3.3 million, matching MSWA’s contemporaneous announcement. The available sources establish the discrepancy but do not explain its cause, so the official itemised values are the clearest account of what the prize included.
Why the couple later built a different home
MSWA’s 2020 account said Kylie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998, aged 32, and that by 2001 her mobility and spatial awareness were significantly affected. It also reported that Brett left his job to care for her full-time. These are details reported by MSWA.

The Joneses’ story concerns the 2020 draw, not a current prize offer. As of 8 October 2026, MSWA’s terms and FAQ listed the 2026B final draw for 19 October 2026 AWST, with a South Perth house valued at AUD $4 million and AUD $100,000 cash as the stated grand prize. Those are details for a different draw and do not change what Kylie and Brett won in 2020.
