The claim that Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel each signed a package worth more than $60 million for Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 came from a report based on unnamed sources—not a publicly confirmed contract. Bell later said the deal had been misreported but did not disclose her actual pay. Disney has confirmed the three actors are returning for Frozen 3, without confirming the reported compensation.
What the $60 million report actually claimed
On Nov. 19, 2025, TheWrap reported that Bell, Gad and Menzel had each signed packages valued at more than $60 million for the two sequels. TheWrap said the packages combined upfront fees and back-end bonuses for each film, with payments spread over several years and bonuses tied to box-office performance. It attributed the terms to unnamed sources and said Disney declined to comment. TheWrap’s report is the source of the figure; it is not an official Disney announcement or a publicly available contract.
TheWrap also reported an upfront amount close to $20 million per actor, attributing that figure to an executive close to the deal. It separately reported that each actor received $15 million for Frozen 2, citing an individual with knowledge. These are reported figures, not verified compensation terms.
What Kristen Bell said about the reports
On Mar. 3, 2026, Bell challenged the coverage in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, as reported by Variety. “I think there’s been a lot misreported about that ‘Frozen’ deal,” she said. She added: “No, no, no, no, no that’s somebody making a lot of things up.” Bell said the role pays well but did not give her actual compensation or specify which reported terms were inaccurate. Her comments therefore dispute the reporting without establishing a different salary. Variety’s account of Bell’s response does not report a confirmed alternative figure.

What Disney has confirmed about the sequels
Disney’s official D23 2026 recap lists Bell as Anna, Menzel as Elsa and Gad as Olaf in Frozen 3, and gives the film’s theatrical release date as Nov. 24, 2027. The announcement confirms their return to the franchise, not the reported pay package. Disney’s D23 recap is the official source for the cast and release date.
Frozen 4 has been reported as in development, but the cited coverage does not establish a release date or an official schedule for it. Variety’s reporting on the sequel context does not confirm the alleged contract terms. Variety covers Bell’s response and the status discussed in that report.
