Where the 2023 LIC AAO Mains call letter was available
In March 2023, candidates accessed the call letter through the Careers/recruitment link on LIC’s website. The Indian Express reported its release on 15 March and updated its report on 16 March, ahead of the 18 March Main examination. LIC’s official AAO Generalist 2023 recruitment archive is now the relevant official record; it shows later recruitment materials and the Mains result rather than a live Mains call-letter link.
Because the call letter was specific to each candidate and the exam has passed, an old or third-party download page should not be treated as a working source. For a current LIC recruitment cycle, use the active Careers listing and the notice for that cycle.
How candidates downloaded it in 2023
- Visit LIC’s website and open its Careers/recruitment section.
- Select the LIC AAO Mains admit-card or call-letter link.
- Enter the registration number or roll number and the password or date of birth requested on the page.
- Submit the details to view the candidate-specific call letter.
- Download and print the call letter.
LIC’s 2023 recruitment notification specified the registration number/roll number and password/date of birth as credentials. It said call letters would be available through a Careers link on LIC’s website, with candidates also notified by email and SMS. The notification’s stated release schedule—7–10 days before the online examination—applied to that recruitment cycle, not to future exams.
Exam date and selection timeline
The Main examination took place on 18 March 2023, as recorded on LIC’s archive page. The Indian Express reported that 7,754 candidates qualified for Mains. It also reported that the preliminary examination was held on 17 and 20 February 2023 and that the preliminary result was declared on 14 March. The candidate count is a figure from that contemporaneous report; it is not displayed in the reviewed text of LIC’s archive page.

LIC’s AAO Phase II information handout instructed candidates to bring the call letter with a recent passport-size photograph affixed, their original photo identity proof, and a photocopy of the same ID. The handout stated: “Please bring the call letter with your photograph affixed thereon, currently valid Photo identity proof in original and a photocopy of the same ID proof which you bring in original – THIS IS ESSENTIAL.”

Accepted identity documents listed in the handout
- PAN card, passport, permanent driving licence, or voter card with photograph
- Bank passbook with photograph
- Photo ID issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead
- Recent ID issued by a recognized college or university
- Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar with photograph
- Employee ID or Bar Council ID with photograph
The handout did not accept ration cards or learner’s driving licences. The name on the identity document had to match the name on the call letter exactly. Candidates whose name had changed were instructed to bring the original Gazette notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit supporting the change.
Other venue instructions for the 2023 exam
- Check the date, time, and venue printed on the call letter.
- Bring a ball-point pen.
- Latecomers would not be admitted.
