Maini Precision Products and its aerospace subsidiary, Maini Global Aerospace, signed a multi-year agreement with MTU Aero Engines on February 10, 2011, for precision aero-engine components. The 2013 announcement named three programs—GP7000, V2500 and EJ200—but did not disclose the contract’s value, quantities, full duration or whether it remains active.
What did Maini agree to supply MTU?
Indian Defence Review reported that Maini Precision Products Pvt Ltd (MPP), including its aerospace subsidiary Maini Global Aerospace Pvt Ltd (MGA), entered a long-term agreement with Munich-based MTU Aero Engines for precision components used in aero engines. The agreement was signed on February 10, 2011; the report was published on January 10, 2013. Indian Defence Review’s 2013 report is the available account of the announcement, not the contract itself.
The report names three engine programs and associates them with these aircraft:
| Engine program | Aircraft application named in the report |
|---|---|
| GP7000 | Airbus A380 |
| V2500 | Airbus A320 family |
| EJ200 | Eurofighter Typhoon |
The report does not specify which individual components Maini was to manufacture for each program, nor does it give production quantities.

Why was MGA selected?
According to the report, MTU assessed MGA over the preceding year before selecting it as an Indian partner to meet quality and delivery needs. The report characterized MGA’s intended position as a strategic supplier in MTU’s supply chain. That describes the partnership as presented at the time; it does not establish subsequent delivery performance or prove that MGA remains a supplier today.
Gautam Maini, identified in the article as Managing Director of MPP and Director of MGA, said: “In the aerospace business one has to have a very clear long-term focused vision to become a substantial player in the future.” Naresh Palta, then identified as MGA’s CEO, said: “We are proud to be associated with MTU, as its Indian partner.” Both quotations are reproduced as published in the 2013 report.
