The fight happened, but the claim that Netflix paid £10m to make it happen is unverified. Netflix’s official event materials confirm the bout and report its audience and outcome, but do not disclose a £10m payment. A separate report about Anthony Joshua accepting a pay cut of more than £10m concerns a proposed Tyson Fury fight, not the Paul bout.
What happened in the Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight?
Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua fought in a sanctioned professional heavyweight bout at Miami’s Kaseya Center on December 19, 2025. Netflix listed the contest as eight three-minute rounds with 10-ounce gloves. Netflix’s event listing set out those terms before the fight.
Joshua won by sixth-round knockout. Netflix reported that he knocked Paul down multiple times before the referee stopped the bout; the promoter’s release gives the stoppage time as 1:31 of round six. Netflix’s post-fight report includes Joshua’s reaction: “It wasn’t the best performance,” he said at the end of the bout.
Is the reported £10m Netflix payment confirmed?
No. The official Netflix event listing and its post-fight audience announcement do not state that Netflix paid £10m to secure, stage or broadcast this specific fight. That does not establish that no payment was made; it means the figure and the claim attached to it are not confirmed by those published materials.

A surfaced 2026 report says Joshua accepted a pay cut of more than £10m for a separate Tyson Fury fight. That is a different bout and a different financial claim. It is not evidence that Netflix paid £10m for Paul vs Joshua. The report does not establish the Paul event’s rights fee, fighter purses or other commercial terms. The report about the proposed Fury fight should not be used to infer the Netflix payment.
