When did JCPenney’s 2022 Black Friday sale start?
JCPenney announced online early access to thousands of Black Friday deals for one day on November 1, 2022. Its full Black Friday ad launched online that day and remained available through the month for shoppers planning purchases. The company said select deals would appear online and in stores each week in November. JCPenney’s October 13, 2022 announcement described the campaign as “We Got Your Holiday.”

A contemporaneous BGR roundup published November 3, 2022 reported that deals would continue through the month and described a Final Hours sale through November 27. That was a report about the 2022 campaign, not a current sale calendar.

What were the store hours on Thanksgiving and Black Friday?
JCPenney said its stores would be closed on Thanksgiving, November 24, 2022, and open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday, November 25. The company also said early shoppers would receive special coupons at store entrances that could be combined with advertised Black Friday prices. Store hours beyond that stated opening were location-specific; JCPenney directed shoppers to its locations page for local details.

JCPenney also reported that it planned 21,000 seasonal hires, had 50,000 associates worldwide, and operated more than 650 stores in the United States and Puerto Rico. Those are figures published by the company in 2022, not independent estimates.
