What the 2023 JKPSC recruitment covered
Notification No. 13-PSC (DR-P) of 2023, issued on 13 April 2023, advertised nine Assistant Director (E&S) posts in the J&K Planning, Development and Monitoring Department. JKPSC’s subsequent result notice lists the category allocation as OM-05, RBA-01, SC-01, ST-01 and EWS-01. The application cutoff was 16 May 2023. The application period has ended, so this is a status update rather than an open application opportunity.

JKPSC Assistant Director recruitment timeline
- 13 April 2023: JKPSC advertised nine posts under Notification No. 13-PSC (DR-P) of 2023. The application cutoff was 16 May 2023.
- 29 March 2024: JKPSC said candidates under the 2023 and 2024 notices could choose two optional papers from Computer Science and Applications. An edit window was scheduled for 2–4 April 2024. This was an option, not a requirement that every candidate choose that subject. See the optional-paper notice.
- 1 July 2024: JKPSC issued the schedule for the descriptive written examination, which was to run from 6 to 21 August 2024 for candidates under both notices. The exam schedule quotes the Additional Secretary’s 19 June 2024 notice: “the Written Examination (Descriptive type) for the post of Assistant Director (E&S) in J&K, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department will be conducted w.e.f. 06.08.2024.”
- 8–16 October 2025: JKPSC conducted interviews, according to its later result notice.
- 16 October 2025: JKPSC issued Notification No. 72-PSC (DR-S) of 2025 declaring the Assistant Director (E&S) result following interviews. The notice discusses both the nine-post 2023 recruitment and the separate 89-post 2024 recruitment.
- 6 May 2026: JKPSC’s notices index lists “Download Marks Card for Assistant Director (ES) Competitive Examination- 2023/24.” Candidates should use the official listing to reach the candidate-specific marks lookup: JKPSC notifications index.
What the result notice does—and does not—show
The October 2025 notice says 37 candidates provisionally qualified for interview against the 2023 advertisement and 264 against the 2024 advertisement; 35 candidates were common to both. These are interview-stage administrative counts, not a final selection count or a simple pass rate. The same notice describes later eligibility exclusions and tribunal-directed interviews, so the figures should not be read as a straightforward comparison of final outcomes between the two recruitments.
