LIC released admit cards for the 2021 Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) and Assistant Engineer (AE) preliminary recruitment exam in August 2021. The exam cycle is over, and a live official download link for the old call letter has not been verified; this is a historical update, not a current download notice.
When the LIC AAO and AE admit cards were released
Contemporaneous reports said the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) released preliminary-exam call letters for registered AAO and AE applicants in August 2021. Scroll published its report on August 18, 2021, and India Today updated its report on August 19, 2021.
When the preliminary exam was scheduled
The prelims were scheduled for August 28, 2021—not April 2021. The Times of India reproduced this wording as a quotation from an LIC notice: “The Preliminary Examination for the Recruitment of Assistant Engineers/ Assistant Architect & Assistant Administrative Officer (Specialist) is scheduled on 28th August 2021 which was earlier scheduled on 4th April,2020.” The original notice was not located, so the quoted wording is attributable here to The Times of India’s report, not to a named LIC official.
How applicants were told to download the call letter in 2021
At the time, the reported route was through LIC’s website. The instructions below describe the 2021 process only; they do not establish that the old login page still works.

- Open the LIC website and choose Careers.
- Select the call-letter download link for the relevant Assistant Engineers/AA/AAO Specialist recruitment.
- Enter the candidate login credentials requested on the login page.
- Download the displayed admit card and print it for the examination.
The legacy download endpoint has not been verified as currently available, so an old direct link should not be treated as a working link today.

Scroll reported 218 vacancies in the 2021 recruitment drive: 50 for AE and 168 for AAO. These are historical recruitment figures, not current LIC vacancies.
