Check warranty coverage before paying

United States
Lexus USA says new Lexus hybrid models have a 10-year/150,000-mile Hybrid Battery Warranty. This is a U.S.-market statement, not a promise that every used Lexus or every battery failure is covered. Check the warranty terms for the specific vehicle and its in-service date and mileage.
Canada
Lexus Canada lists 120 months/240,000 km for the hybrid high-voltage battery. This is the coverage term shown on its Canada-market page; verify the applicable vehicle terms with Lexus Canada or a retailer.

Europe
Lexus Europe describes market-specific warranty periods and a battery health-check-based additional coverage program in participating markets. Confirm availability and eligibility in the country where the car is registered; European terms should not be assumed to match U.S. or Canadian coverage.
Understand the warranty on a replacement battery
The warranty on a replacement part is separate from the original vehicle warranty. Lexus’s Genuine Parts warranty document says authorized-dealer-installed hybrid system high-voltage batteries, excluding commercial, fleet, or livery vehicles, are covered for 36 months regardless of mileage from installation or for the remainder of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, whichever provides greater coverage. The same document says a high-voltage battery not installed by an authorized Lexus dealer receives the 12-month Lexus Service Parts Limited Warranty described there. Confirm the current terms with the local retailer and read the written warranty for any non-Lexus offer, including exclusions and labor coverage.

Compare battery options and written quotes
Independent offers may describe a pack as remanufactured or as using new-generation cells. Those labels identify the seller’s stated battery category; they do not, by themselves, establish comparative reliability or service life. Ask each provider to state the battery type and provenance in writing, then compare the full offer rather than the headline price.
- Fitment: Confirm compatibility with the exact Lexus model, model year, and battery configuration, preferably using the VIN.
- Battery and labor: Identify whether the offer is for a new OEM, new-cell, or remanufactured pack, and whether installation is included or charged separately.
- Full amount due: Ask for the pack, labor, diagnostic fee, tax, shipping, and any refundable core deposit or credit to be itemized. A core deposit can affect the amount paid up front; ask how and when it is refunded.
- Warranty: Get the duration, mileage limits, covered parts, exclusions, transferability, and responsibility for labor, shipping, or transport in writing.
- Service logistics: Confirm whether a qualified local installer is available, expected turnaround, and the process and cost for returning the old battery core.
- Vehicle economics: Consider the repair quote alongside the car’s overall condition and how long you expect to keep it. A battery quote alone does not determine whether keeping the vehicle makes financial sense.
How to get a comparable estimate
- Identify the vehicle: Give the provider the model, model year, market, and VIN so it can confirm fitment.
- Check coverage: Ask a Lexus retailer to assess the original vehicle warranty before approving paid work.
- Request itemized written quotes: Ask Lexus and any independent provider to specify battery type, installation, diagnostics, taxes, shipping, core deposit or credit, and warranty terms.
- Compare the total and conditions: Compare the amount you will actually pay and the service and warranty obligations—not just the listed pack price.
