What is known about SHEIN’s current status?
SHEIN’s U.S. Terms of Use, effective September 3, 2026, describe the U.S. website, mobile site and app as services. This is evidence that the company maintains current U.S. service documentation, not confirmation that the services are available in every location.
SHEIN Investor Relations reported that first-half 2026 net revenue was US$20.1 billion and total orders rose 6.4% year over year. Those are company-reported figures, not an independent assessment of the company’s financial condition or future. Its current corporate profile also says SHEIN served approximately 273 million active customers in approximately 160 markets in 2025; those are company-published figures for 2025, not an independently verified current count.
SHEIN’s Digital Services Act disclosure reported an average of 127.9 million monthly active users across EU Member States from February 1 through July 31, 2026. This is a defined EU-period measure and should not be confused with the company’s global active-customer figure.

An inquiry or investigation is not the same thing as a filed RICO charge, a court judgment, or a binding order to stop operating. The sources identified here support the existence of the two regulatory matters above; they do not establish a RICO charge or closure order.

- Look for an indictment, court docket, regulator announcement, or company statement that names SHEIN and specifies the alleged action. A headline or social post without a primary record is not enough to establish a charge.
- Check the jurisdiction, named entity, and procedural status. The Irish inquiry concerns data transfers; the FTC matter is described as an investigation. Neither label by itself means a court has ordered the company to close.
- For service availability, check SHEIN’s official notices and the relevant local website or app. Terms for the U.S. service do not guarantee availability in every country.
A third-party TechYorker page dated April 28, 2026 repeats the shutdown-rumor phrasing, but its legal and testing claims are not substantiated by the material available here. It is not a reliable basis for deciding whether a court has filed or ordered anything.
