What the 2025 VSSC notice advertised
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), part of ISRO, issued Advertisement VSSC-336 on 20 September 2025 for Scientist/Engineer-SC posts. The roles were Group-A Gazetted positions in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. The notice listed seven post codes, totaling 17 vacancies:

The official notice does not support the headline’s figure of 82 posts; it lists 17. Post codes 1554–1558 were assigned to VSSC. Posts 1559 and 1560 could be distributed across VSSC and other ISRO centres. Candidates for those posts had to state centre preferences, and placement depended on the centre. Eligibility depended on the post code
This was not a general opening for all engineering graduates. Each specialization required a particular combination of postgraduate and undergraduate disciplines. The notice generally specified an M.E./M.Tech subject as well as an eligible B.E./B.Tech discipline; applicants needed to check the exact combination for their post code in VSSC-336.

- The minimum B.E./B.Tech result was 65% aggregate or 6.84/10 CGPA.
- Required qualifications had to be completed by the application deadline, 6 October 2025. The notice included detailed provisions for degree completion, conversion of marks and foreign-degree equivalency.
- The upper age limit was 30 years on 6 October 2025. The notice specified birth-date boundaries of 6 October 1995 and 6 October 2007 and listed relaxations for specified groups under Government of India orders.
Because the subject requirements varied, the post-code-specific qualification table in the official VSSC notice is the controlling reference for whether a particular degree combination qualified.
Pay and application fee
The notice stated a minimum basic pay of ₹56,100 per month at Level 10, plus applicable Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance. This is basic pay, not a take-home salary figure.

Applications were online only through the VSSC website, from 22 September 2025 at 10 a.m. to 6 October 2025 at 5 p.m. The application window has ended. The notice required an initial payment of ₹750 per application and described a non-refundable application fee of ₹250; refund of the balance depended on category and appearing in the written test, and bank charges could be deducted. Applicants were instructed to retain the final application PDF.
How selection was structured
The process comprised a written test followed by an interview. Valid applicants were to be called for the test. Interview shortlisting was based on written-test performance at a 1:5 ratio, with at least 10 candidates per post. For final panel generation, written-test marks and interview marks each carried 50% weight. The notice said a tentative test date would be announced on the VSSC website; the available official information here does not establish a later test date, interview schedule or result.

Where to check current ISRO vacancies
VSSC-336 is a historical notice, not an open application. ISRO’s All Current Opportunities page lists later 2025 and 2026 notices, so applicants looking for a current opening should check that listing and the relevant official centre’s recruitment page rather than rely on an old deadline or reposted vacancy count.
Use official VSSC and ISRO pages for recruitment updates. Advertisement VSSC-336 warns: “VSSC/ISRO never appoints any agent(s) or coaching center(s) for action on its behalf.” It cautions candidates about fake websites and social-media claims; no outside agent or coaching provider should be treated as officially appointed by VSSC on the basis of this notice.
