Inside Lionel Messi’s Business Empire: His Biggest Businesses and Investments

Messi’s reported business portfolio spans property, hotels, startup investing, production and consumer brands—but reported ownership, investment and licensing are not the same.

Lionel Messi’s reported business portfolio spans property and hotels, startup investing, media production, restaurants and consumer products. But “businesses he owns” is too simple a label: the reporting describes a mix of family-linked companies, investments, partnerships, licensing and brand collaborations, and it does not establish Messi’s exact ownership stake in every venture. The strongest picture is a set of distinct business relationships—not a verified list of companies he personally owns outright.

What businesses are associated with Lionel Messi?

Reports identify several central entities: Limecu, a holding structure; Rostower, a Spanish property company; MiM Hotels, a hotel portfolio; Play Time Sports-Tech Holdco, an investment vehicle; and 525 Rosario, a content-production venture. Separate reporting connects Messi to a restaurant investment and a range of branded consumer products. These relationships are not interchangeable: a company in a reported family structure, an investment, a licensed product and an endorsement do not establish the same kind of ownership.

Business area Named entity or brand Reported connection Geography or scope
Holding and image rights Limecu España 2010; Leo Messi Management Cinco Días describes Limecu as a holding structure and Leo Messi Management as the company used for image-rights activity; it reports Rodrigo Messi as Limecu’s administrator. Company reporting cited by Cinco Días; the article does not provide a complete ownership schedule.
Property and hotels Rostower; MiM Hotels Rostower is described as a listed Spanish SOCIMI, with hotels and other property in its portfolio. The MiM hotels are associated with that property business; Meliá is reported as their operator, not their owner. Six MiM destinations: Andorra, Baqueira, Ibiza, Mallorca, Sitges and Sotogrande. A separate 15-room property is reported in Salardú.
Startup investing Play Time Sports-Tech Holdco Described as a Messi investment vehicle focused on sports, media and technology startups. Launched in 2022; no specific portfolio holdings are established in the cited reporting.
Media production 525 Rosario A content-production venture described as formed with Smuggler Entertainment. Film, television, sports and digital formats, according to the reporting.
Restaurant and consumer products El Club de la Milanesa; L10 Wines; Más+; Messi Fragrances; Messi x Stanley 1913 Infobae reports Messi joined the restaurant chain as a partner in 2025 and identifies the other names as beverage, fragrance or product associations. It does not supply audited ownership stakes for these ventures. Consumer-facing brands and collaborations; current availability and specific ownership terms are not established by that report.
Apparel The Messi Brand An SEC filing by MGO Global describes a trademark license granted by Leo Messi Management to the apparel licensee. That documents branded apparel and a license, not Messi’s ownership of MGO Global. Historical disclosure in MGO Global’s 2023 Form 10-K; it does not verify current products or sellers.

How do the companies and investments differ?

Limecu and image-rights activity

Cinco Días describes Limecu España 2010 as a holding structure and Leo Messi Management as the vehicle used for image-rights activity. Image-rights revenue is not the same thing as revenue from an operating business: it can reflect commercial use of Messi’s name and image rather than sales from hotels, products or services. The report identifies Rodrigo Messi as Limecu’s administrator; that detail alone does not establish the full ownership of each company in the structure.

Rostower, MiM Hotels and hotel operations

Rostower is described as a listed Spanish SOCIMI—a property investment company—with hotels and other real estate in its portfolio. Reporting lists six MiM hotels in Andorra, Baqueira, Ibiza, Mallorca, Sitges and Sotogrande, plus a separate 15-room property in Salardú. In December 2025, Cinco Días reported that Meliá had taken over operation of the six MiM properties under The Meliá Collection, following an earlier arrangement with Majestic. Operating a hotel and owning the property are different roles; the report identifies Meliá as operator, not owner of the MiM portfolio.

Play Time and 525 Rosario

Play Time Sports-Tech Holdco is described as an investment vehicle launched in 2022, with a focus on sports, media and technology startups. The cited reporting does not name specific portfolio companies, so it is not possible to turn that broad investment mandate into a verified list of holdings.

525 Rosario is a different kind of venture: a production company described as a collaboration with Smuggler Entertainment. Its reported remit includes film, television, sports and digital content. A production venture does not, by itself, identify a particular streaming service or subscription for viewers.

Consumer brands, restaurant partnership and apparel licensing

Infobae reports that Messi joined El Club de la Milanesa as a partner in 2025 and also names L10 Wines, Más+ hydration drinks, Messi Fragrances and a Messi x Stanley 1913 collaboration. Those associations establish that the ventures or products are linked to Messi in the report; they do not disclose a complete ownership schedule or the terms of each relationship.

MGO Global’s 2023 Form 10-K provides a more specific description of the apparel connection: Leo Messi Management granted trademark rights to a licensee for The Messi Brand. That is evidence of a licensing arrangement. It should not be recast as proof that Messi owns the licensee, and the filing does not establish what products or seller relationships are current today.

What do the reported financial figures show?

Cinco Días reported that Limecu had €109.3 million in revenue and €15.1 million in profit for 2023, the latest accounts it said were available in its January 2025 article. These are reported group-level company figures for that year, not Messi’s personal income, cash holdings or net worth. In a separate December 2025 report, the publication said Rostower lost nearly €7.5 million in 2024. That is a different company and reporting period, and should not be combined with Limecu’s figures as if they were one account.

The cited sources do not establish a comparable valuation for each venture or an audited value for the portfolio as a whole. A precise ranking of Messi’s “biggest” businesses by value would therefore go beyond the available evidence.

What can be said about Messi’s role in the portfolio?

The clearest way to describe the portfolio is by relationship type. Reporting connects Messi’s business activity to a family-associated holding and image-rights structure, property and hotel assets, startup investment, media production, a restaurant partnership, and licensed or collaborative consumer products. The evidence varies: the SEC filing is a primary historical disclosure of the apparel license, while the other named ventures rely on reporting that does not give a portfolio-wide schedule of legal ownership stakes.

Messi himself was quoted by EFE in a report published September 1, 2026, describing business as something he is interested in learning about. The Spanish quote attributed to him at the American Business Forum in Miami in November 2025 was: «El tema empresarial es algo que me interesa. Me gustaría seguir aprendiendo porque no sé nada y estoy arrancando en esto». This is a personal comment, not a statement of the legal structure or scale of his companies. EFE’s report.
